And when the people do rise—when they finally say enough to this authoritarian overreach—it’s going to be very interesting to see if folks like Nancy Mace are still out doing their own shopping. Because once the institutions break and the illusion of democratic legitimacy collapses, the insulation that public office once provided will be gone.
These officials think they’re untouchable while they tear down the rule of law. But power built on fear doesn’t last. When accountability comes—and it will come—it won’t be through a press release or a staged town hall. It’ll be from the very people they’ve ignored, undermined, and tried to silence.
