Most known for his works of Historical Mystery Fiction, Leadley interweaves intricate mysteries into the context of true historical settings and events. Sherlock Holmes and the Circle of Blood, Death By Misadventure: A Sherlock Holmes Novella, The Saratoga Deception and The Veil of Maples and Pines are a few of his notable works. He has also published three books set in Cape May, which is considered "the nation's oldest seaside resort."

Pirate Treasure of Cape May is a middle grade mystery-adventure set in the late 1940s where a brother and sister embark on a thrilling quest to find Captain Kidd's buried treasure.

A Victorian Romance in Cape May is a classical romance set in 1878 Cape May.

Sherlock Holmes in Cape May puts the famous sleuth in the city to uncover the solution to a bizarre murder. This book proved successful enough that the author signed a book deal with Black Coat Press to pen two more Holmes novellas. All three are contained in the volume: Sherlock Holmes and the Circle of Blood.

Steve Leadley is a teacher of American History in Cape May, NJ. He has both Bachelors and Masters degrees in History.
