The stories are rather too short and lack any spark of greatness.

I've been a fan of Sherlock Holmes for as long as I can remember and I love Conan Doyle's work. I was a bit dubious about this one, as it's not written by him, but I wanted some light reading and N.M. Scott's short stories hit the spot. I thoroughly enjoyed all of the stories in this book and nothing was lost in the fact that they weren't written by Conan Doyle. I take my hat off to N.M. Scott for keeping these characters alive.
