CharityWatch's rating of Children International also includes the financial activities of the international affiliates consolidated in the organization's audited financial statements for the fiscal year ended September 30, 2022. All significant intercompany accounts and transactions have been eliminated in the audit consolidation. According to the Children International consolidated audit of September 30, 2022 (Note 1 re: Nature of Operations): "Children International India was organized in 2012 as fundraising and program affiliates of the Organization in support of its worldwide programs. Children International - Australia (CI-Australia), Children International - Canada (CI-Canada) and Children International - Dominican Republic (CI-DR), were organized in 2014 as fundraising and program affiliates of the Organization in support of its world wide programs. Children International provides management assistance and oversight to these organizations to ensure they are operating in accordance with the Organization's vision." |
According to the Children International consolidated audit of September 30, 2022 (Note 1 re: Product Donations): "In addition to receiving cash contributions, the Organization receives contributions of medical supplies, textbooks, clothing, shoes, soap, advertising, etc. from various donors. It is the Organization's policy to record these donated items at their estimated wholesale market value in accordance with industry standards developed by Accord referred to as the Interagency Gifts in Kind Standards. The Organization has included $18,809,214 in Public Support and Revenue and the same amount under Worldwide Program Services expense for the year ended September 30, 2022."
