Recently, I was delighted to welcome Year 4 from the Spinney Primary School, to the Arm Cambridge campus for a day of programming micro:bits and robots. Our aim was to help everyone feel confident that they could program a micro:bit, and to particularly encourage those without any background knowledge of technology. Programming and debugging teaches children perseverance and resilience, especially when their robots wander off the maze! The children loved programming their TPbots to autonomously navigate a maze marked on the floor, and all of them were successful. Some even used the Bluetooth radio to remote control one micro:bit from another micro:bit using the gyroscope and buttons. Many thanks to Arm who give their employees volunteering time so we can make this happen. Thanks also to my colleagues Peter Jackman, Consuelo L., Priyanka bansal and Meg Arnold for your invaluable help volunteering and making this possible.
