Mushrooms whisper tales of vanishing health bars and Breloom's swaying spores.
And it's no contest! Breloom sweeps the vote competition and becomes the 14th fighter added by a grandslide. Breloom is a tricky, surprisingly mobile zoner who excels in area denial with long reaching normals, Seed Bombs galore, & Shroom Blast landmines. The Seed Bombs specifically lead to creative applications, as many of Breloom's tail swipes can dribble the tree-to-be to practically anywhere on screen. Simple combos lead to high damage output, effectively boosted by the morel-y bankrupt Drain Clutch stealing the opponent's health. Whiff punishes, anti-airs and parries can all lead to this threatening move, snowballing a massive health discrepancy. Breloom is a master of the war of attrition and will easily take over the battlefield if left unattended.
Once Breloom seizes the corner, they act much the same, standing at midrange. Patient opponents will fall victim to Breloom's shockingly fast dash followed by a tick throw, while fools that try to escape will find themselves socked in the face and subject to Breloom's frighteningly high metered damage. While Breloom doesn't have tons of plus frames, it can still discourage the opponent from swinging with its unique Effect Spore parry threatening poison at worst and double meter gain at best. Even if they can't get meter due to their difficulty comboing into sweep, Breloom is quite content with their high meterless damage output off simple yet effective moves including 6A, 4A and a Seed Raid from above. The Breloom hivemind is a force to be reckoned with!
Breloom however is a very selfish character - they very much prefer their own pace of play and lose much of their strong functionality in disadvantage. Despite long ranged normals, Breloom can struggle at certain distances due to these moves being slower and slightly minus on block. It gets even worse once the opponent properly gets up close, as Breloom has subpar durability & attack speed as well as a complete lack of reversal. Rushdown characters who can make their way in are rewarded with a cut-throat victory over the stumped shroom. That is, of course, if Breloom allows them to. Breloom can just as easily use their quick and safe movement options to weave and punish poor unsuspecting aggressors with deadly spores! Never doubt this mycelium might!
And don't get too patient in the corner either, or you'll meet a cruel fate...
Playstyle
Breloom uses a mix of strong pokes, tricky projectiles & rapid movement to control the pace of the game.

Powerful Zoning: Breloom's redirectable Seed Bombs and stretchy pokes are great for controlling space.
Rapid Regeneration: Breloom's 6B and 623B allow them to regain health, extending the efforts you must make to defeat them.
Excellent Extensions: Breloom has some of the most meter-efficient damage in the game, and can use a pre-placed Shroomish to crank its damage even further.
Mobile Mycelium: Breloom's dash speed is blisteringly fast, and jB allows Breloom to jump around while threatening to beat attempts to anti-air their highly rewarding aerials.
Puffball Parry: Though slightly luck-dependent, Breloom's parry is one of the most rewarding in the game, giving it a scary option on both offense and defense.
Poor Defense: Breloom's kit features no reversals and slow buttons, making fighting out of bad scenarios difficult.
Scanty Cancels: The amount of special cancels Breloom has from their normals is quite limited compared to other characters, detracting from the length of its meterless combos.
Defensive Deadzone: Breloom's anti-airs are fantastic from long range but suffer close-up, forcing you to rely on parry or positioning.
Agaric Arc: Breloom's zoning predominantly affects the sky due to the seeds' trajectory, opening up a weakness to characters that can cover the ground quickly.
Parched for Plus Frames: Breloom can't enforce meaningful plus frames without a jump-in or significant setup time, forcing it to fend off abare using its parry.

Breloom extends a jab upwards.
Breloom's anti-air normal
Very reliable from range, but has a deadzone close to their head
Plus on block, but can whiff on crouching hurtboxes and leaves Breloom too far to threaten frametraps
Even in the corner, Breloom can at best threaten a trade with 6A
Can combo into 2B's followup or Spore Cannon if they're already on screen when the throw is initiated

Multi-hitting parry attack
Allows juggles much easier than other parry attacks, though they're still dependent on distance
