GTA V takes place in the city of Los Santos and its surrounding areas. Unlike GTA: San Andreas, the city will is the main area in the game, but will still be surrounded by countryside.

Please note that San Fierro and Las Venturas, parodies of San Francisco and Las Vegas that first appeared in GTA: San Andreas, are not in the game.

Size of Map

The map of GTA V is approximately as big as San Andreas,Red dead redemption,and Liberty City together. Another figure from Rockstar is that the total map area is 5 times that of Red Dead Redemption. Red Dead Redemption's maps was about 28 square miles or 72.52 squared kilometers. The whole map will then be around 140 square miles or 362.6 square kilometers.
