In his speech in a yellow jacket today, Randy Gradishar lovingly referred and thanked those from his youth, college years, and long career with the Broncos. Including homage to the great Joe Collier, right. Excuse me ... IT WAS ABOUT DAMN TIME!

I’m going to miss my first NHL season since I started with the Kings in 1981 (yikes) before moving on to the Avs in ’95. I’m getting tests and treatment for advanced prostate cancer. Yeah, it sucks. Next chemo Thursday.

The newspaper war was genuine, but was joy to work with and be around, including on road. He was trusted friend when that wasn't always easy in competitive times. He loved his family and was a softy for dogs. He is missed.

I came across this. Wisconsin at Yale, 1947. Stories said Badgers G Jerry Frei had an "acute sinus infection." Soon, the WWII fighter pilot was advised to give up football. "Acute sinus infection" was code for "multiple concussions" in those days. He had blinding headaches.
