Tropes
- Ascended Extra: Inspector Newcomen is a minor character in the book and is often left out of adaptations, but is the viewpoint character in the game.
- Canon Foreigner: Lucy Carew, Sir Danvers' daughter, is original to the game, as are Constable Stevenson, Dr. Faulds, and two of Hyde's victims.
- Creepy Doll: Hyde makes doll-size mannequins of his impending victims.
- Cutscene Boss: After you solve the final puzzle, Hyde is killed when Stevenson shoots him.
- Dies Differently in Adaptation: Carew was beaten to death with a cane in the book but is strangled to death here.
- Dramatic Irony: Since Jekyll's potions are supposed to bring out the good in people, the characters assume Hyde uses them to assuage his guilt after the murders. What he actually does is use them to turn into Jekyll and escape the police.
- Hello, [Insert Name Here]: The game lets you name the inspector whatever you want.
- Hidden Object Game: The majority of gameplay revolves around finding various objects, which somehow advances the plot.
- Matricide: Ashamed of his lower-class parents, Jekyll became Hyde to kill his mother.
- Mini Game Game: The game is full of puzzles and mini-games separated by story.
- Pixel Hunt: The game requires you to investigate your surroundings to find clues, leading to you having to pay attention to small details.
- Red Herring: The characters suspect Enfield in Carew's death and accuse him of hiring Hyde to go after Jekyll, but he turns out to be innocent.
