GTA 5 player kills every NPC in game, over 800, just to see what happens

What Grand Theft Auto is all about

GTA V has a lot of NPCs, so it’s pretty damn impressive that this player managed to wipe them all out.

At least wipe out every variant of NPC, as it’s explained by YouTuber Adichu that there are over 800 NPC models in GTA V, giving civilians a unique look that makes them appear to be everyday people.

It’s a testament to the work that went into making GTA V feel alive, so God knows what Rockstar is cooking up for GTA VI

The YouTuber went on a mission to kill every single variant of NPC in the game, a whopping 850 characters basically who all pop up in different parts of the map, as the type of area you're in determines what kind of people you’ll bump into.

The video itself is around 10 minutes long and worth a watch, as it’s like watching a really, really dedicated bounty hunter except they're not getting a reward for their work.

Some variants were seemingly easy to track down like the actual story NPCs, Michael’s family, Trevor’s friends etc, and others are harder since they tend to just blend in with the crowd.

Adichu was seriously dedicated to the cause to do this, I don’t know how he found the time to put this all together.

That’s a staggering number of NPC variants too, 850, even more staggering when you remember the map for GTA VI is going to be several times larger than GTA V.

This means there’ll likely need to be more NPCs to make the world feel lived in, and given how “theme” of the game if you want to call it that is crazy Florida characters it won’t be hard to make them feel like real, unique individuals.

I’m hoping Adichu will return when GTA VI comes out and re-attempt this challenge, it might need to be a bigger video though.

GTA 6 map compared to GTA 5 blows fans away: 'I need the game now'

The hype is so real

We all know that bigger doesn't always mean better when it comes to video games, and that's especially true of open worlds.

Having huge open worlds is a great idea on paper, but if you can't fill them with interesting things to do, they quickly become a chore.

I bring this up because a recent image comparing GTA VI's map to GTA V's has started doing the rounds, and the upcoming Rockstar Games release looks like it could be way bigger than its predecessor. And GTA V was hardly a small game.

For those that aren't keeping up with all the latest GTA VI news, fans have been working tirelessly to create an estimate of game's map, which we know will consist of the state of Leonida (based on Florida) and include Vice City (based on Miami).

Using footage from the trailers, guesses based on actually Florida geography, plus data from various leaks, this team of virtual cartographers have managed to put together an incredibly detailed map. And while we can't say for sure how accurate it is, it's all based on cold hard facts and digital geography.

One user over on the GTA Forums named lxr actually managed to work out that this speculative GTA VI map has a landmass of 125 square kilometers, making it 2.55 times the size of GTA V.

Over on the GTA VI subreddit one fan shared an image of the new map with the GTA V map across the top of it. The difference in size appears to truly remarkable, and fans are impressed.

"Honestly exploring the map in itself is a game for me," one fan wrote. "The story will just be icing on the cake."

Another added: "Maaaaannn I need the game now."

"A Rockstar map in 2025 made for current console gen hardware only," another wrote. "My God this game cannot come soon enough."

Fallout 4 player murders every NPC just to see what happens

Wait, is Dogmeat legit an Institute spy?

Ever wondered what happens if you kill literally everyone in Fallout 4? Well, we have our answer, thanks to the efforts of one (ever so slightly unhinged) individual.

Bethesda RPGs are famous for the freedom they offer players, mostly because said freedom gives players the opportunity to do some heinous, awful stuff.

In that sense, murdering absolutely everyone in one of their games seems like the natural conclusion to things. After all, if you’re gonna give us the option… someone is gonna try doing it.

Enter YouTuber Dumpykong, and their video "I Killed Every NPC in Fallout 4".

Dumpykong has basically built their YouTube career off of murdering all the NPCs in Bethesda games, so it was only a matter of time before they made their way over to Fallout 4.

I highly suggest giving it a watch, mostly because I think it’s incredibly interesting that they had to devise a specific route due to NPC spawns, but I am going to spoil one pretty big part of the video (mostly because I had no idea it was a thing).

During Dumpykong’s quest, they intentionally saved Dogmeat until last. They state that this is because this is the murder they’d feel most bad about committing, but in doing so, it triggered a little easter egg I don’t think I’ve ever seen before.

You see prior to finding Dogmeat, Dumpykong blew up The Institute. They hadn’t even encountered Dogmeat at all until they were essentially done with the entire game.

Except, upon meeting Dogmeat for the first time towards the end of the video… he was already dead.

Turns out, there might be a canonical reason for this, as one of the commenters on Dumpykong’s video reveals.

“At 18:40 what killed Dogmeat was The Institute's destruction. No joke. The institute planted Dogmeat there as a companion animal for the sole survivor to meet with and be useful as a spy dog for them,” commented user @nick53686.

“At the Red Rocket gas station the radio is playing classical music which immediately stops playing the moment you blow up the institute too. Every location with a radio that plays classical music is a location the institute has eyes at and or is a location that the institute is capable of monitoring from a distance.”

Huh. I don’t think this is exactly confirmed as such in-game, but they might be onto something here because it does make a little bit too much sense.

Who knew Dogmeat was an Institute spy this whole time?

GTA 6 'aggressive' 5 star police chases unite fans

Escaping is about to get a lot harder

Part of the fun of any Grand Theft Auto title over the past few decades is getting to commit crimes and trying your hardest to escape the fleet of cops that will be sent to chase you down.

As technology advances, however, escaping from the local PD is harder than ever and with Grand Theft Auto VI expected to push the boundaries of law enforcement AI, we can only imagine how much more chaotic the chases will be.

Check out the first official trailer for Grand Theft Auto VI below!

For those who are not in the know, committing crimes in Grand Theft Auto will see you rack up a ‘wanted level’ ranging from one star to five, with five featuring every member of the police alongside SWAT teams, helicopters, and the like.

As a result, trying to escape them is extremely difficult and in a discussion that took place over on r/GTA6, fans of the upcoming Rockstar title want the chases to be harder than ever.

Ironically, user SureTraffic3040 took to the Reddit last year to ask, “How rough do you want police chases to be in GTA VI?”

“I think pursuits in GTA could have some improvements,” they continued. “There are many videos out there of the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) that show how they run things. Would the experience be more enjoyable if they mirrored the FHP or do you think they should tone it down from FHP’s style?”

The post was accompanied by footage of the FHP in action and it is safe to say that they do what it takes to catch those criminals.

For one user, they just want one simple change.

“I just want cops to have actual cones of vision. I'm tired of being seen through walls,” they shared.

However, another user was all for the idea of a fictional FHP, saying: “Yes please! Also make SWAT more aggressive.”

StangRunner45 agreed, adding: “It better be more intense and realistic than ever before. I want screaming bodies ejecting out windshields left and right!”

It remains to be seen how our Vice City cops will react but it won’t be long until we find out with GTA VI expected to launch later this year.

GTA 6 'release window' leak roasted by fans, and we can see why GTA 6 'release window' leak roasted by fans, and we can see why

GTA 6 'release window' leak roasted by fans, and we can see why

Can't blame them

Grand Theft Auto fans are getting tired of “leakers” getting everything wrong, often throwing out speculative guesses rather than actual concrete information.

Some leakers are certainly more credible than others, but it's really hard to differentiate those these days; does the one who claimed to have been an office cleaner at Rockstar Games and picked up bits and pieces about GTA VI while employed there deserve the benefit of the doubt?

GTA VI launches this year.

One leaker though by the name of Detective Seeds is being slated by the wider Grand Theft Auto community for a since-deleted prediction.

“Detective Seeds may have leaked the GTA VI time window,” began a Reddit post by Spyrospitfire, before continuing, “In a tweet today, he said, 'Remember remember the middle of November'. After that he deleted his tweet, thinking he was on to something.”

The comments were not kind, with many labelling him as just another clout-chaser especially after other claims they’d made.

“Bro I'm still waiting on the Oblivion drop if I'm going to give him an ounce of respect,” read one of the comments.

“Can we ban this guy as a source please?” read another comment, with another declaring, “This guy needs to go away.”

As usual, we can never take any leaks as fact until Rockstar Games itself confirms it, and at the time of writing, the studio is still keeping GTA VI under lock and key until the time is right.

Rockstar hasn’t even confirmed a date for the second trailer yet, something many people are finding odd since it’s been a long time since that first trailer dropped and with the game coming out this year, the company is running out of time.

To be fair, it is GTA VI though; second trailer or not, we’re still going to be buying the game anyway.
