Which Starter to Pick
At the beginning of the game, you have the choice of which starter Pokemon you will receive from Professor Oak, you can only choose one (unless you are cheating - How to Get All 3 Starters, and each of the starter Pokemon have different strengths are weaknesses, these are summed up pretty well below.
Charmander: If you chose Charmander the first two gyms will be harder since Charmander is fire type and the first gym is rock and the second is water Charmander's biggest weaknesses but the rest of the gym's are easy
Bulbasaur: I would pick Bulbasaur because like I said the first two gym's are rock and water those are weak against Bulbasaur but on the 7th gym is fire type but by the time you get to the 7th gym you have to have a water type by then just to get to the island
Squirle: Squirtle would be good for the first gym then tie at the second then it's tough at the 3rd gym since your going up against Raichu a lightning type
Best Way to Catch Snorlax
There are only two chances to catch a Snorlax in the whole game, unless you using cheats! So you want o be sure you catch him instead of deafeating him if you want to add him to your collection. How to Get a Lucky Egg
Head to the Safari Zone and try to catch Chansey, eventually you may catch a lucky egg instead. With the lucky egg you can get up to 10,000 XP for your Pokemon so they are well worth trying to find. The Best Way To Catch Any Legendary Pokemon
1. Lower it's HP. The less HP it has, the better.
2. Make the it Fall Asleep.
3. Throw Ultra Balls at it.
4. If it awakens, make it fall back asleep and continue to through Ultra Balls.
Starter type
Here a good reasons for starter chosing

Save error fix without having to start all over!
This is a dumbed down, step-by-step guide to fixing this without having to start all over! It has been working fine for me ever since I've done it a while ago. You are all very welcome. 
1. Create a new folder.
2. Copy ONLY these THREE files into the new folder: the emulator (vba), the rom (Pokemon fire red/leaf green), and the last saved file from the game (.sgm extension).
3. From the new folder open the emulator, load the rom (file > open > .gba extension) and load the last saved game (file > load > .sgm extension) to continue where you were last.
4. Now go to: options > emulator > save type > Flash 128k. In other words, change it from 64k to 128k.
5. Finally, go to: ..

There are no 'cheats' as such for Pokemon Fire Red. By this I mean no press up, down, left and you'll get soemthing.

You don't need escape ropes to escape
So you want to escape a cave, tower etc. But you ran out of escape ropes but if you have a TM that teaches dig teach it to a Pokemon then use the pokemon's dig and poof your outside the cave, gym, tower again etc. So now you can save money because don't waste all your money on escape ropes. Now you can just use dig. Hoped this helped with all players who don't have escape ropes and they are stuck in a cave, tower again etc.

Trick to catching a Snorlax. 'Oops! I accidentally defeated him'
Okay, so anyone who has played Pokemon Fire Red knows the whole story with the two Snorlax. It puts a bit a pressure on oneself when you know there's only two in the entire game. So basically, you only get two chances to catch Snorlax. (Unless you trade it in from another game) Well, I just realized a way to keep the stress off from thinking "There's only two in the whole game!" This only works for an emulator (Like VideoBoyAdvanced). This isn't really a cheat, just a game tip.
I fought the same Snorlax a good 6 times before I caught him. And I haven't even gone after the other one yet. But first I want to refresh your memory, or inform you about Snorlax. THE ELITE FOUR:
CHALLENGE 1:

HOW TO WIN: Zapdos is the Pokemon to use here. Use thunder on Dewgong, thunder on slowbro, thunderbolt twice on Lapras, thunder on Cloyster, then switch to Moltres (or Charizard if you have him) and use flamethrower on Jynx. Easier catch
If you have a pokeball or greatball availble and there is a really good Pokemon (depends what level and where they appear rare or common) and you are too power and might kill them? Well, throw that ball but make sure you have a lot. When you throw it don't press anything until it hits the ending point, at that point, Press and hold the A button. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't, but it does help alot when trying to catch legendaries. Articuno is the worst to try with pokeballs and greatballs, All though I didn't have enough money at the time to get ultraballs. But you do that and many times if needed, if you do it right the first time, you will catch 60% of the Pokemon you find on the first throw. Hope this helps you catching Pokemon.

4'th starter sort of
In both games you only have the choice of 3 Pokemon but if you catch the most valued Pokemon of them all at viridian forest(pikachu)and raise it as your starter it will be exepted as so because it can learn volt tackle from the old lady but your real starter still makes you have that whole decision thing with the legendary dogs.

Celadon Game Corner Free Coins
There's free coins on the ground everywhere in the game corner! Usually near people who give you coins if you talk to them. The biggest prize is 100 coins 1 step back from the photo booth. If you stand in front of the booth and take one step back, your standing on them! Take 1 more step back to take them.
Easy Catching Moltres
In Pokemon FireRed, there is 3 legendary bird, and one of them is Moltres.
When I battle it, I found a easy way to catch it. Now here is how:
1. You need a (eg. Flareon, Ponyta)
2. Then get a lot of great/Ultra balls
3. Find Moltres and Battle it
4. Use the Pokemon that has ability Flash Fire
5. Weaken it
6. Throw those balls on it

I will explain it in steps.........
1.put a meowth or persian in your party.(make sure it knows PAY DAY)Attach the amulet coin to it.
2.get a Pokemon that knows FLY.
3.fly to LAVENDER TOWN.
4.run down and you should see a path which is route 12. Go all the way down then you should be in route 13.
5.you should see 2 ladies standing next to each other. Use the versus seeker and at least one of them should want to battle. Fight them, keep using pay day until you win.

Every time you use pay day it times the level of your Pokemon by 10. So if your meowth or persian was level 40 you would get 400$ every time you use it.

You will first cross over the bridge and there will be a grassy area.
There are 2 pokerangers there battle them and then continue on.
Once past them you will need to go up the steps, at this point there will be 2 more pokerangers. Battle them and keep moveing.
Once past this you will see a rock use rock smash on this and then move up the steps on the other side.

Get rid of Rockets in Saffron City
To get rid of the rockets in Saffron City you need to first go to Celadon City and go to the Rocket Game Corner where if you go up the back there will be a rocket standing in front of a poster.
Battle him, beat him then a stairway will appear to your right.
First make sure your pokemon have reasonable health, then go in and find your way to the top and defeat Giovanni.
Then go to Lavender town and go into the Pokemon Graveyard place. Find your way to the top and beat all 5 rockets, then talk to the man.
He will take you to his place and give you a pokeflute, then you have to go to Silph Co. in Saffron City.
Find your way to Giovanni and the President of Silph Co. and you will have to beat Giovanni again. Then after you beat him ..

Go right and go to the bigger island. Go to the extreme left. Fight Lady Jacki. She has a Lv.48 Hoppip and a Lv.50 Skiploom. Beat her with a Flying or Fire type then she will give you $20,000 if you gave your first Pokemon the Amulet Coin. You can use the VS Seeker and keep challenging her to get loads of cash! I got $500,000 through this method!

First go to island 7 go to the left and you will see a patch of grass. keep going down until you see a small cave called Tanoby Key. Go inside and you will see boulders an these dots on the ground. Put the boulders on the dots and their will be a loud noise. A text will appear and it will say that there was an echo far away. Head to the Tanoby chambers and go inside. Run aroun a few times and an Unkown will appear.

Esy-Hard way to caputre legendary dog(s).
Onceyou beat Elite Four and get National Dex look around Kanto region and somewhere you'll batlle dog ( takes a long time) the the dog runs away now look in your national dex go to the legendary dog and go to the screnn that tells you where to capture that PKMN. Note that your legendary pokemon will move quikly around towns and routes so act fast. Irecamend you have a Digglet or Dugtrio with arena trap at levels 50 or higher. and alot of ulta balls and if you have a master ball good for you.

There are four secret items in the game. There is the Sooth Bell. To get it, use the item finder in the exact spot where Mr. Fuji stood in Pokemon Tower. There is the Macho Brace. Get it by using the item finder in the exact spot where Giovani stood in the Viridian Gym. And there are two Left Overs, both are located right underneath where both Snorlaxes sat. Use the item finder exactly on the spots. If you done it correctly, yellow stars will shoot out instead of item finding-arrows. Works in Leaf Green too.

How To Get Mew
Okay to do this cheat you have to have already caught Mewtwo. If you havn't, then you can't use this cheat. If you have, great. Okay, after you catch Mewtwo, put him in there front of your party. Hint for pokemon league
At first when you enter the Pokemon league you need to spend all your money or as much of it as you can. When you battle this means that if you lose your money will be safe because you wont have any to give them. Now when youre at your rival never start with your statrer Pokemon as you will propably lose the match no matter what level it is.I suggest, if possible you trade your say blastoise for a charizard with a friend. This will easily ensure you triumph over the Pokemon league.

To get rich quick, go to the sevii island that has the house on a tiny island above it(i think it's the 4th.) go to the house (where a girl gives you pearls, nuggets, etc. For bringing certain pokemon) and outside there are 2 or 3 rich kids. Battle them with the vs. Seeker with your Pokemon holding amulet coin and get around $20,000 each time untill you are happy. I got the max. Amount of money quickly.

You don't need rock smash to get Mewtwo. All you need is surf, a Pokemon that can freeze, Paralyze, or sleep Mewtwo. And patience. (or a masterball) and access to Cerulean cave.
Exp while sleeping
While I was sleeping I gained exp for my Pokemon arcaine. It started out as a level 30 and now it's a level 42. I put him in the day care and went to the rocket hide out in cleadon city. What I did was step on those arrow tiles that make you move to a stoping area. I weighed the button down that makes me walk to the arrow tha sends me backwards to the stop post. For every step I took it gave arcanie 1 exp. This trick works better if you have more room to walk.

1.) Ok if the chance of finding a shiny Pokemon is 1 out of 8,738, then even if you went and found 8,737 Pokemon, the last Pokemon you find will still have a 8,738 chance of finding a shiny, in otherwords, the chances will not fluctuate, or change no matter how many Pokemon you encounter. If you do find one, lucky you, just don't put it in the cheats section, because we really don't care in that section.
2.) Hidden power is not a normal attack and no it does not work like a normal move. It is more like curse's type, the ??? Type because it's power can be fire and if your ninetails, for instance uses it then it will be like ninetail's ember, but a little stronger. A Tip To Training Pokemon
Here's a handy tip to training your Pokemon. "Always battle wild Pokemon." Yes, this can be a boring process but it's worth it. You run into about maybe 50 Pokemon per 1 hour play. Just think of how much EXP you would have if you battled them. Your difference in a Pokemon's levels when you get to Indigo Plateau would about be more than 20 if you battled every wild Pokemon. What I mean by this is: This Pokemon didn't fight wild Pokemon- Charizard- Level 50. This one did fight them- Charizard- Level 70. See the difference? You don't have to do this but it's just a tip.

Eventually after around 300-600 steps (in a different area/island) the old man will be a step further away from the fence and he will offer you an egg your Pokemon have laid. Make sure you have a Pokemon slot open so you can take it. If you don't have a slot open but already talking to him accept it anyways and he will tell you to empty a slot. Go to a computer and put a Pokemon of your choice in a box. The egg only hatch when you are holding it. |

You can evolve trade evolution Pokemon with Trade Stone, you can buy it somewhere in the Wild Area. Go to Wild Area from Wedgehurst and then go right until you reach an area filled with Chewtle and then go up through the gate, and there will be like a shopkeeper npc besides the guy in white outfit and you can buy a bunch of evolutionary stone from that shopkeeper npc.
