Hey, hacker friends! Ever wonder why people say Google is a hacker’s best friend? Well, I’m about to show you why.

Before we get into the dorky stuff (pun intended), let me introduce myself. I’m Satyam Pathania, a cybersecurity enthusiast who loves exploring new ways to gather information and make hacking a bit easier. I’ve spent time learning and working with some awesome tools, and I wanted to share one of the most underrated ones out there: Google Dorking. Sounds funny, right? But once you see how powerful it is, you’ll be hooked!

my handwritten notes page

You know this notes page of mine? Well, the date on it is really special. It was my birthday, 25th February 2020, the day I first started digging into Google Dorking. With no party to attend and my day wide open after my parents wished me, I had time to think about what to explore in cybersecurity.

So, I began researching and stumbled upon Google Dorks. That day, I wrote down my first Google Dorking commands in my notes. It was the start of something new, and the more I explored, the more hooked I became. These dorks have opened up so many ways to gather hidden info using Google searches!

What’s Google Dorking?

Google Dorking is like using Google in a super-smart way. Normally, we just search for regular things like websites or answers. But with Google Dorking, you use special tricks (called dorks) to find hidden stuff like files, passwords, admin pages, and more. It helps you look for things that are not easily seen by everyone.

For example, instead of typing ā€œadmin login,ā€ you can use a dork like:

inurl:admin

Why Google?

You might wonder, ā€œWhy not use special tools for finding information?ā€ Well, Google is free, super powerful, and used by everyone with a phone or computer. It allows you to use simple tricks (called dorks) to find information that’s usually hard to access. When you’re gathering info before doing any kind of cybersecurity work, this can give you a big head start.
