The World Has Gone Insane

"Jenny stop!" Jenny heard a more than familiar voice call. "You are pitiful Hyde." Jenny said through gritted teeth. "And I'll show you what I can do. You see, you are unable to move because I made it so, you are here, putty in my hands, whimpering for your life because I made it so, and I'm going to take Haylee, and you just leave us alone. And I suggest that is one thing that you make so." She pulled the dagger from his neck. Hyde laughed. "You think that by holding a dagger to my neck and telling me to leave you alone, I'll leave you alone?" Hyde laughed again. Jenny was starting to walk away before he said that, but she couldn't just leave him after saying that. She swung around, putting more force in her hit. She contacted with his jaw blood flew from his mouth, "Don't come near me, Haylee, or Jekyll again." Jenny then turned on her heel and followed the crowed that was still gathering around the exit out.

"Haylee!" Jenny cried pulling her into a hug. Haylee pulled away. "You didn't kill him, did you?" Haylee asked. Jenny put her hands on her hips, "Why does everyone think that I would kill him? That's all I've been hearing from Jekyll for three months. 'Don't kill him Jenny' I swear! I wouldn't kill anyone. The worst I did was punch him." Jenny said rolling her eyes. Haylee pulled her into a hug. "Thank you so much. It was horrible!" Jenny was the one that pulled away this time. "He didn't hurt you? Did he?" Haylee shook her head, "No. It was just that you never called me!" Jenny half laughed half sobbed. "I'm sorry, I haven't even touched my phone for months. I was always thinking about getting my best friend back." Haylee smiled, "Okay, I forgive you." She said. Jenny smiled, "Let's go home. We have a bedroom waiting for you." They both walked to Jekyll's car and climbed in.

He didn't hurt her. He let her go to school. He let her keep her phone. Why? Why did he do any of that? Jenny asked herself. It troubled her, she wasn't sure why. What if he really isn't as bad as you think he is. The wise voice in the back of her head whispered.
