Hi! Might any of you might be willing to pick all your dandelions and deliver them to my porch? I ask because I am a fiber artist and I've been wanting to play with local foraged fibers for a good while, lamenting the whole time that my hips and knees are not up to as much walking and up-and-down as I'd need to harvest dandelions even from my own yard. Never mind the odds that someone might call the cops on me trespassing in theirs. I also haven't been on Nextdoor in a rather longer while. (Remembered it exists mostly bc JL posted about the sad wet calico, really.) So it's only just hit me that asking this is an option. Like. Want to put off lawnmowing until the grass is too tall, not just the dandelions? I would love to get your dandelions. Want an excuse to spend a little while outdoors? Please bring me all your dandelions. Got small ones who might like to come see the dragon who lives in our yard? Well, dandelion milk is this dragon's favorite food. But just like with almond milk, it's not really milk, someone has to make it out of whole ones first. (And nobody else eats while they're napping either.) We're all practiced storytellers here, would we lie to you? Want some idea of what I'm doing before you decide whether you want to help me and/or try it yourself? https://youtube.com/watch?v=suuK4OEockY is where I got the idea; isn't it cool? If you're willing to leave contact information with the dandelions, I will be happy to keep you posted on the dandelion cordage project, and any natural dyes experiments or other art projects that I do with the other parts of the dandelions. I'm at 6521 S K St, with the Pride flags on the windows and the inflatable dragon asleep on the front lawn. I would appreciate if you tried to get each dandelion stalk as long as possible and lined up the same way as any others on our porch chair, but I will be very happy to get any at all. Thank you!
