/a/'s organic activity is usually lower on April Fools because it falls right in the gap between seasons: nearly all Winter anime have finished, but only one or two Spring anime have premiered, and they're usually not major titles.
It's also morning or noon right now on a work day in most of the Western world.
And /a/ isn't getting that many refugees because most of them flock to the fastest boards that will be last to shut down.

I wish they went most popular to least popular. Would probably ruin the less popular boards for weeks, but I don't go on them anyway.
