Jenny's heart broke as she watch Haylee walk away. Her eyes stung, and her throat felt like it was closing. Haylee turned down an alley with Hyde's arm around her shoulders. Jenny's vision blurred, and she felt something wet and warm slide down her cheeks. "Haylee." She whispered, the betrayal heard in her voice. She fell to her knees sobbing. "Jenny. You need to get up." Jekyll whispered to her. "She was my friend. My only friend. How could she do that? She was literally the Hyde to my Jekyll, and she left me." Jekyll put one arm around her shoulders, and the other hand under her elbow. He pulled her up, reaching for the dagger that she dropped. He wrapped her hands around his neck, and grabbed the back of her knees, picking her up. She sobbed into the back of his blazer, saying nothing. "I know what it's like." Jekyll calmly said, walking to the hotel. "It may have happened over 150 years ago, but it still hurts." Jenny didn't talk. The lump in her throat was too big.
Jekyll walked into the hotel with Jenny still on his back. The woman at the front desk gave him a strange look. "She was just too tired to walk." Jekyll explained. Jenny didn't care about strange looks, she didn't care what other's thought about an adult girl ridding piggy back on a man. All she cared about was death. She just wanted to die. She didn't care about the world. Her best friend just betrayed her. "She could have done it to protect you, you know." Jekyll suggested putting her down on her unmade bed. The tears were still flowing from her eyes. She finally understood what all of those novels she read meant by heart break. It truly was the worst feeling that could ever be felt. She wasn't mad at Haylee, she never could be. She never would be. She was more sad that Haylee did it. She hiccuped, and sobbed some more. "I'll leave while you change." Jekyll said. "You've had a long day. It's time for bed." Jenny didn't want to change, she didn't want to move. Haylee wouldn't want you like this said a tiny voice in the back of her head. You should at least change and get some sleep. Don't mope around, she would be heart broken if she saw you like this. You don't want her to be heart broken, you know what it feels like. She cursed the tiny voice, because it was right. She'd never want anyone to feel this way. She stood and changed. Right after she climbed into bed there was a knock on the door, and Jekyll walked in. "Are you dressed?" He asked. Jenny hiccuped again, "Yes." She told him. "Now go to sleep, I'll keep an eye out." Jekyll said to her. She nodded, and closed her eyes, falling into a sweet dreamless sleep.
