The World Has Gone Insane

Jenny woke up and stretched. That was the best night's sleep she'd had in ages. Her and Hylee were sharing a bed while Jekyll slept in the other one. Haylee was still sleeping, but when Jenny looked over at the other bed, it was empty and neatly made. She looked around the room, but there was no sign of Jekyll anywhere. She listened to see if the shower was on, but didn't hear any water running. Just as she was about to investigate his disappearance, the door opened. Haylee sat up with her dagger at the ready as Jekyll came in. "Whoa! Is that how you're going to greet me all the time?" He asked her. Haylee relaxed, "Sorry, it's just that... I thought you were someone else." Haylee explained. Jekyll nodded at her. "Don't worry, I do the same sometimes." Jenny noticed Jekyll had a package. "What's in there?" Jekyll looked down as if he forgot. "Oh, it's a long lost family heirloom." He gave the package to Jenny. She reached in, and felt cold metal. She pulled it out. It was designed exactly like Haylee's. The only difference was it was more silver looking than gold. Jenny had practiced with Haylee's several times before, and Haylee showed her a few tricks with it. She took the dagger out of it's sheath. She saw her green eyes in the shiny blade. "Is this mine?" She asked. Jekyll nodded. "It was a set. Hyde and I bought them when we were in Asia together one time. He kept the one Haylee has, and I kept the one that I'm now giving to you." Jenny jumped out of the bed and hugged Jekyll. "Thank you so much." She pulled away and straightened her self, "Now if you don't mind, could you please vacate the room so us girls may get ready?" Jekyll nodded, gave them each a bow, and left.

"Don't you think it's weird though?" Haylee asked. "I mean he's your however many greats grandpa, and he just turns up out of the blue." Jenny shrugged, pulling her jeans up. "I don't know. I mean if he meant any harm, he would have done it by now, wouldn't he? And he would have taken your dagger away so you wouldn't be able to protect yourself, not give me one doubling the protection for both of us." Haylee nodded, "I guess when you put it that was it makes sense but still. Does he think that Hyde is a bigger threat now that we are separated because of college?" Jenny pulled up her hair. "Well, think about the book. Jekyll was the good, and Hyde was the bad. Maybe we need to stay friends to keep your bad side under control?" Jenny suggested. It didn't sound like the best but it was still a theory. Haylee groaned, "He just can't tell us, can he." Jenny smiled, "Maybe he wants to see if we can figure it out ourselves." There was a knock on the door. "You two done?" Jekyll asked from the other side. "Yeah!" Jenny called. The door opened, "Good, because I have the day planned already."
