Jenny's eyes were red, and they hurt. She had been trying to find out who owned that seal that was on the envelopes she was always getting. She had the Universities search engine, Google, Yahoo, and Bing up on the libraries computer screen. Her laptop was in for upgrades, and the library computers were free to use. She had been searching for six hours straight. She leaned back in her chair, and bit her thumb nail, or rather what was left of it. "Pardon this interruption, but the library will be closing in 10 minutes." A guy said over the intercom. She groaned. She got absolutely nowhere. She was glad that the library stayed open til 11 on weekends, but it wasn't enough time for her. Jenny logged out and turned off the computer.
When Jenny got to her dorm room, she didn't even bother changing out of her jeans and t-shirt. She didn't even bother taking off her shoes. She just fell on her bed and went to sleep.
"She isn't your friend, she's your enemy. She betrayed you. She went to her school leaving you to go here, alone." A deep, husky voice said to her. She was dreaming of darkness, and the voice seemed just beyond her reach. "What do you want? Who are you talking about?" Jenny called out. "Haylee Hyde, she is your foe. You must kill her." The words echoed in her mind. "No! She's my friend! She's my best friend! She's my only friend! I can't!" The voice laughed. "Kill her, or she'll kill you."
Jenny sat up in her bed, breathing hard. She looked at her clock. It was only 1. She rubbed her eyes, and got up to change. She thought back to her nightmare. She shivered. How could her mind even come up with the idea to kill her best friend? Haylee didn't do anything wrong. Sure Haylee and Jenny went their separate ways after high school, but they both agreed that it was for the best. They were both following their dreams, and they were still the best of friends. How could Jenny even conceive the idea to kill her? Something about the dream disturbed her, deeply. It was as if a dark part of her was fighting to the top and wanting to kill Haylee. Jenny chuckled a little, making a joke. "Jenny, it was just your Hyde trying to break free." She mumbled to herself. She went to turn off her light, when she spotted it. Another letter, right on her desk.
This is not a dream my friend.
Yours Truly
