The World Has Gone Insane

Jenny was in her dorm room, typing an essay on her laptop. Her gaze kept wondering over to her desk, where the two letters sat. She shivered, knowing that someone was watching her gave her the creeps. Calm down, act like nothing has happened. She told herself. She found that she had been talking to herself a lot. So far, she hadn't been able to narrow down her list of suspects. There was 143 guys with the initials E.H. It was frustrating, and in the last note that she got just two days ago said, "The key is her name." What did E.H. mean by that. Who's "Her"

Jenny shook her head, she had to keep her attention on her essay. She looked at her screen, only half a page and she'd reach the requirement. She looked through what she had written so far, and decided to close it. Her finger flew over the keyboard, and she was thankful that she forgot about the letters, and about the mysterious E.H. As she typed the final word, she sighed with relief. All she needed to do was print it. She looked at the clock on the screen, the library would be closed. She fell back on her bed, and absent mindedly picked up her phone. Haylee would be out of practice by now. She called, and after two rings Haylee picked up. "Hey, dude. What's up?" Haylee greeted in her usual way. "Nothing much, just finished with an essay." She saw a shadow through the gap under her door, and an other envelope was slid under it. "Hold on." Jenny stood up from her bed and slowly walked over to her door, bending over to pick up the envelope. It had the same seal as the previous two.

"Haylee, I need to tell you something." Jenny said to her. "Me, too." Haylee responded. "I've been getting some letters from this guy, and I'm scared. I feel like I'm being watched all the time, and I can't ever find out who is doing it." There was silenced at the other end. "Haylee? Were you even listening?" Jenny asked. "Yeah." Haylee whispered, "But you just told me what I was going to tell you." Haylee breathed. "Is your letters signed H.J.?" Haylee asked Jenny. Jenny shook her head as if Haylee could see her. "No." She finally said. "They're signed E.H." Jenny held the new letter tightly in her shaking hand. "I just got a new one." Haylee said before Jenny could say anything. "Me too. Mine is written on thick paper, and has a wax seal." Jenny tried to stop her hands from shaking. "What's on the seal?" Haylee asked. "What?" Jenny didn't know how to respond. "The design on the seal, what is it?" Haylee clarified. "Oh. It's a beaker and a dagger." Jenny answered. Haylee gasped. "So's mine. Let's open them together." Jenny carefully opened it, not damaging the seal.

"The stage is set, and it's your curtain call.

Yours Truly,"

They read together. "H.J.Haylee said. "E.H."Jenny said. "What is that supposed to mean?" Haylee asked. "I don't know." Jenny said, her heart beating fast.
