The World Has Gone Insane

Two friends going to separate colleges get mysterious letters, that seem to be from the same person... but are they?

Jenny leaned against the lamp post, her music up all the way. Her breath came out like a cloud of smoke. "Am I a good man? Am I a mad man? There's such a fine line, between a good man and a... Bad." Anthony Warlow sung in her ears. She sighed, he knew what she was going through. She was infamous at her old school because of her last name, and even more popular in college.

She closed her eyes, "We will be reading and talking about 'The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde'." Her English teacher said. "Jenny should know all about that, with it being part of her family history and all." One of the girls remarked. Her eyes flew open, it wasn't her fault that her name was Jenny Jessica Jekyll.

Her phone rang, and she looked at her contact. "Haylee" it said. She smiled. It was funny that her only friend was named Haylee Heather Hyde. Not only because her name was an alliteration like hers, but she was supposed to be her 'Opposite' with her name being Hyde. "Hey." Jenny greeted when she answered the phone. "Hey, Jenny. How are you doing?" Jenny smiled. Even though she was practically cross country, Haylee still worried about Jenny. "I'm doing okay. How is AMDA?" Jenny asked knowing the answer, "As always, AMAZING! It's too bad that they don't let English majors in here. You'd love it!"

Haylee was a little short, but had long, light, brown hair, sparkling blue eyes, and was amazing at dancing, drawing, and drama. "The Three D's" As she called them. She was the one that introduced Jenny to Anthony Warlow.

Jenny was just a few inches taller than Haylee with slightly longer black hair, Emerald green eyes, and loved to write.

"I miss our long, late nights we would have. You know just chilling and having a great time." Jenny said to Haylee. "Me, too. I'm about to go on, I need to go." Haylee quickly said. "Break a leg!" Jenny said, just before Haylee hung up the phone. She sighed, and leaned against the light post one more time. She felt the hair on the back of her neck stand. She looked around to see what was making her feel that way, when an envelope floated to the ground. Jenny picked it up. The paper was thick, and something rarely seen. She flipped it over to see a wax seal. The design had a chemical beaker and a dagger. Jenny looked up to the roof top of the building it seemed to come off of. She didn't see anything. She carefully opened the letter.

Talking to the enemy? Shame on you. You should know better.

Yours Truly,
