The Strange Case of Doctor Jekyll and Ms. Hyde (A Yandere Shortie)

This is a yandere short (because I haven't done that one in a while, huh?). I won't spoil much of the story in the description, because it'll be pretty short. 4 or 5 chapters at least. The story would involve 2 teens called Kendel and Ayuno (See that punny reference? Yuno? Ayano? No...?).

Unlike many other stories, this one is just a quickie, so I didn't take much time into the description. Enjoy? I guess? I hope.

Chapter 1: New Girl

Everything was so cold that day. Felt like this was going to be a long day at home, Kendel could feel that much. The wind chill was basically climbing up his windows. Climbing up like a mountain climber. It was a good thing he had decided to sleep at Ayuno's that day, because his parents had left him in the house to fend for himself this weekend. To make matters worse, the heaters had given in.
He came to the logical conclusion that it was best to get himself in some good gear and head over to Ayuno Gaishi, his girlfriend. Well, perhaps he should add a question mark to that last sentence, since he himself was utterly confused at what kind of chemistry they really had going. He didn't really like her as much as she liked him, and at times it didn't seem like she truly had a liking towards him anyway. Sometimes she felt like she was supposed to be the one in control, and in the end, that was quite the hassle for him.
Either way, girlfriend or not, they were indeed buddies. It had been a good few months since they met, but they indeed had grown some form of a bond. What bond this was? Well, he was unsure of the answer to that question. She seemed rather sweet to him, she was awfully caring and considerate for his feelings, even behind that controlling demeanor. She had made aware that she would never deem actual harm to him, she seemed to care intently for his well-being. Kendel? Kendel was more keen on seeing her as a close partner. Someone to stand by and have the back of, someone to consider a true friend who wouldn't lie to you. Or at least, so he would hope she did.

They had met when she and her parents had moved close into the neighborhood. She seemed not to even care for him, however, which was odd. All she would do was silently sit around, usually bossed by her parents. She was a quiet person, she never spoke back to them, she never wished to interfere with their actions, and she never truly tried to keep them from fighting when they did. It was like there was a dread within her body as she would see their presence, but the fear would remain unexplained to Kendel. Perhaps it was better to turn the blind eye to this one, he did not wish to speak on topics like that.
Gaishi was resting within his arms, her body softly snuggled against his chest. Her lovely hair was colorless, white locks running down her neck, yet no further they would go. She softly snorred on him, his eyes moving towards the door to find sight of it. They were in her room as of that moment. He was in luck that her parents had apparently went on a trip for the week. He didn't believe that they would let him stay here had he asked them, so a sneaky little visit wouldn't hurt much, he supposed.
What the eye doesn't see doesn't hurt it.

He could still remember when they had truly interacted. It was around four weeks ago, or something. He was sitting at the park, reading a book he had craved to read long ago. The sun was shining brightly on his face as he would feed his soul. He was reading a book called "The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mister Hyde", and just as he had sat down on a wooden bench to deepen himself in the literature, so a person would move towards him. He couldn't help but look at who it was, and the new girl seemed to approach him with grey locks. Before she had gotten this weirdly colorless hair, her hair had been a bright blonde, yet now she appeared before him with grey hair. The change in color he had suspected to be due to dyeing it, or perhaps a bit of an unnatural change, like a form of medical condition. He had read an article about stress turning one's hair grey to completely white as well, which could span on the course of weeks, but sometimes even overnight.
As she would sit next to him, he could pick up a sense of danger within her eyes. She seemed to feel threatened, or perhaps frightened and endangered. As his eyes quickly went back to his book to see if he could ignore her, he could feel a gaze was over him. At that moment he had already realized that she was looking right at him, staring into his eyes. Actually, not his eyes, because his eyes were already hidden in the book. His ears, then? that seemed more likely.
Either way, she was looking at him. So, in order to try and not be rude, as she had already been rude enough to stare, he would look back at her. "Could I help you within something, miss?" He would speak out to her sternly, unsure of what was going on inside of her mind as she gazed at him. Her hands began to gently fold together, a voice soft as silicone and innocent as a sheep speaking back to him. "I was just looking at that book you were reading..." She would say to him, her body trying to shimmy closer to his in order to try and see inside of his literature. "I like reading too... I more into comics, though." If he had to be honest, he was not into comics at all. However, he would acknowledge her likes and dislikes, and opinions were opinions, nothing more or less. "Ah, I see. I'm more into books like this... Comics are a bit too much fantasy for me." Kendel would say back to her, his hands flipping over a  page as he had finished the first one. She tried to find sight of entertainment inside his story again, as she had been trying before. "Would you mind if I read that with you...?" She spoke out, her hands softly folding together.
He would look at her, softly giving her a nod. Why not? Might as well. He wasn't that far in anyway. So, he would put the book on both of their legs, and she would read together with him.
It was when he would have to return home that she would ask him if they could read further the next day. He would promise her that he would come back at the same time if she did as well.
And so she did. She would come back at the same time, and they would read the book again together. And then he would leave, and return the next day. The next day they had finished the book, and she would ask him if he had more to read. So, he would bring her more literature.

That was how it would go on for days without end. Eventually she grew rather attached to him, and he'd be lying if he said he didn't feel a bit of a strong bond with her as well. However, he had a girlfriend before they had this interaction, and a much further bond they could not get due to this. It was strange, just around that time she had decided to break up with him. She would never specify why, she simply stated that he was too boring for her.
Perhaps his ex-girlfriend wanted a party animal. A man wild and tight, daring and dashing. Someone who perhaps owned a motor-cycle, or maybe smoked a few specific herbal substances. Someone behind a book all day was obviously not her type, she wanted a big guy with strength and energy, and he was too calm, and not very muscled either. More likely he was around average height.
So, he wasn't really the right guy for her. Ayuno seemed to appreciate his company a lot more. Perhaps he should've seen it coming from miles away.
His arms were still spread tightly around her waist, a soft yawn coming from her body. "Hey, Kendel..." She would speak out while seemingly doing her best to return to the world of the waking. She had her soft grip tightened around him as she tenderly stroked her fingers on his chest. "Are you awake...?" She asked, only to see him nod as he gazed at the ceiling. "Ah, then you must be feeling a little lazy, I guess... Else you would've stood up by now, right?" He'd gaze her in the eyes, then look back to the ceiling with a nod. Yes, that was true. He really didn't feel like getting up today. All he wanted was to lay down with the heater filling this freezing room with warmth. She would arise from her position, wiping her eyes with yet another yawn following her.
"Right then-! I'll get us some coffee, 'kay...?" She sheepishly spoke out to him, as he gave her an appreciative nod and a smile. She could only smile back at him as she would get on her feet, walking out from the door. Perhaps the idea of having her as a form of "mate" wasn't so bad? She seemed lovely after all, and she was very passionate about their little "thing". He did like her, though not in that way, which was perhaps the problem. He saw her as a really close friend, but he couldn't see her as a potential love interest, or to the least not one he could take seriously.
She, on the other hand, seemed to be doing her best to be just that. And he did not want to disappoint her in the slightest.
If she really wanted to, he had to give her a chance.

Later that day he had ran into a classmate of his. She was a brown-haired girl, one who was searching for clothes, apparently. He would greet her with a smile, her hands waving at him.
"Good day, Sarah!"
"Oh, wow, such proper talk! That's not how you greet a friend!"
Sarah said with a chuckle, striking a sassy pose for Kendle. "What'sup, Kendle? You busy?" Kendle would scratch his hair, letting out a bit of a confused "Uhhh..." at hearing her. He would then shrug, smirking like the doofus that he was. "Not really. I was supposed to go get a video game for Ayuno that she wanted really badly." He spoke out, only to feel a strong grip on his arm as he was pulled away from his position. "Good, because that bitch of a friend Nyandra left me the fuck alone here, and now I got no one to judge me on what I should wear..." He would find himself unable to pull away from her grip, mostly because he would consider that rude to her. His eyes settled at her as he tried to give her an unsure gaze, but she wouldn't look back at him. "Honestly now, that hoe really thinks she's a big one, huh? But guess what, I don't need her! You're a kind guy, right?" She spoke out with an ecstatic smile, seemingly a bit mean-spirited, however. "Help a woman in need. Judge me for what I wear, tell me if it looks good." He would tap her shoulder to try and get her attention, but to no avail. His teeth would bite his lip as he kept trying to get her to look at him.
"I don't think I have time for that! I-I have to get that video game for-" Before he could finish his sentence, she would hush him quickly, putting a finger on his lips. His eyes would look down at her as she gave him a smile.
"Come on, now. Ayuno ain't your girlfriend, or anything! You can hang with me for the while, I'm sure she's fine with it." The girl spoke, walking out towards a near clothing store.

Ayuno would watch in the distance as Kendel and Sarah entered the shop, a smile on her face.
"... Let's see what you're up to."
