Chapter Six

Dominic opened the door, but instead of a portal to somewhere, as I thought, on the other side was the small yard in front of Phoebe's place.

"I thought you would just make a portal to somewhere," I said.

"I can only create gateways to and from my home," Dominic replied.

Huh, I thought. I guess even elves have limits.

"Problem is, I don't have a car," said Phoebe.

"And mine is in the shop for repairs back home," said Arnold.

"How did y'all get to London from Australia, then?" asked Michael.

"I've got a wizard friend," replied Arnold.

"And I took an aeroplane," Phoebe added.

"What about your cars?" I asked Michael and Liz.

"My Bug is in America, Will," said Michael.

"Hah!" laughed Liz. "If I had a car in Israel, it'd have exploded - which it did."

"And I don't even know what a car is," said Sera.

"Well, I knew that," I said.

I sighed. "We're gonna need to take mine, aren't we?"

Phoebe nodded and Michael said, "Yeah."

I sighed again. "Let's go."

We all ran to the church. When we got there, I led them into an alley beside the church. There, hidden in the shadows, was my 80s Dodge Charger.

"That does not look like it will fit 7 people," Liz said.

"Yes, it seems like it will fit 4, maybe 5," added Arnold.

"Don't worry, it will fit all of us," I said.

I walked to the driver's side door and opened it. I climbed in. Sera came over and asked, "Uh, what am I supposed to do?"

"Just get in at the passenger's side," I replied.

She walked around and got in. Arnold opened the back door and his eyes widened.

"My God," he said.

The front was normal. However, the back was a different story. In the back, instead of three seats, there were rows of seats like in a school bus. Liz, who had put on a long coat, gloves, a hat, and face paint so you could see her, dropped her mouth open.

"How is it like that?" she asked.

"I know a witch and warlock," I said. "I did them a favor by saving them from the WHA."

"Is it Salem and Hilda?" asked Sera.

"It's Salem and Hilda," I replied.

"Well, this'll work for getting to Daniel," said Dominic.

Everyone got in.

"Where is the Dorian?" I asked Dominic.

"His name is Daniel Farthington," he said. "He lives in Scotland, near Loch Ness. I visit him and Nessie from time to time."

"Nessie's real?" asked Michael.

"Says the werewolf," interjected Liz.

We all laughed, and I drove us over to Scotland, and I put on some Queen because, I mean, the 80s were awesome! Great time in history. I should know. I was there. When we got to Loch Ness, we could see a man by the edge of the lake, feeding fish to something huge coming out of the water. We got out of the car and headed over to the man. He ignored us for a second, then, suddenly and without warning, he whipped around and aimed a gun at us.

"Who are you and what are you - oh, hello, Dominic," he said, lowering his pistol. He had a Scottish accent that was noticable, but not thick.

""Hello, Daniel," Dominic replied. "How are you and Nessie?"

I looked over and sure enough, the creature Daniel was feeding fish to was what looked like a pleiosaur. She looked at me with big brown eyes and made a sort of crooning sound. Daniel looked at me, too.

"You must be a vampire, lad," he said to me. "Good with creatures, they are. Evidently, Nessie likes you."

"I can see that," I said.

"Not a normal look for vampires, that necklace," he noted.

"I'm not a normal vampire," I replied.

"Daniel, we're here because we're putting together a League of Extraordinary Gentlemen," Dominic put in.

"If memory serves, Dorian Grey, a member of the original League and the first Dorian, betrayed the League. Why would you want me?" Daniel asked.

"I'm Phoebe," Phoebe put in. "Phoebe the Seer. It's because of me that we're getting you."

"You're the lass that had the vision not too long ago, right?" Daniel said. "Would've gone, but Nessie needed someone here to take care of her. All right, I'll come."

"Then we have a team," said Liz.

With that, we turned toward Phoebe.

"Where to, Phoebe?" I asked.
