Trivia

  • The Japanese name of this move, ダメおし Dameoshi (Make Sure), if literally translated, can be read as "useless push", once the term dameoshi is the combination of the words ダメ dame (no good; useless; hopeless) and おし oshi (pushing).[1][2] This might explain its move animations displaying hands pushing the target.
  • In sumo wrestling, the term dameoshi refers to the act of pushing an opponent who was already defeated. This practice is not well regarded because it can cause serious injuries to a target who is unready once the result of the match has already been decided.[3]
