Update on PLA Activities Around Taiwan

3 Key Trends:
(1) Although PLA sorties in the first half of Mar 2025 were similar to previous years, the second half saw a significant increase, with Mar 17 and 21 marking the 9th and 10th highest single-day median line crossings since 2021.
(2) Using the occurrence of more than 20 sorties crossing the median line in a single day as a benchmark, there were 5 such incidents in Mar 2025, compared to at most one in previous years' Marches.
(3) There was significant PLA aircraft activity in the airspace north of Taiwan in March this year, a situation not seen in past Marches.
