If anyone here brings him to the Chinese Consulate General in Toronto, you can claim the one-million-dollar bounty
During a media event in January this year, Canadian Liberal MP Paul Chiang (蔣振宇), who’s seeking re-election at Markham-Unionville, encouraged those present to turn rival Conservative candidate Joe Tay (鄭敬基) — who was vying for the Conservative nomination in Chiang’s Markham-Unionville constituency back in January but is running in Don Valley North now — over to the consulate general in Toronto to claim a bounty (HKD 1 million ~CAD 184,000) placed on Tay by Hong Kong Police in Dec 2024 (http://mingpaocanada.com/tor/htm/News/20250122/tal1_r.htm…).
Over the past two years the Beijing-controlled Hong Kong Police Force has issued arrest warrants for Tay and other democracy advocates / activists from Hong Kong, with a bounty placed on each of them.
Chiang “sincerely apologizes and deeply regrets his comments” — on X — now, more than 2 months after he made those remarks.
