"Alice, your Hyde's showing!" My best friend Clara joked.
"Take a long hard look sunshine, its who I am." I replied. Well... It's technically not me, it's Hyde.
I can feel my face burning, it's always the same routine, the burning and cracking starts at the head and moves it's way down, causing nothing but pain and fury and unlocking demons along the way.
"Woah, calm down Alice, have you taken your tablets today?"
"Who needs tablets when I can be free?" Hyde smirked through her gravelly tone.
"Ummm.... ALICE'S UNCLE! ALICE HAS GONE WEIRD!" Clara panicked.
The next thing I heard was my uncle sprinting up the stairs that led down to the lab and found myself edging towards the front door.
"Didn't know you could move that fast, old man."
"Alice, take your pills, please darling." Uncle said through tired eyes, he's desperately searching for a cure for both me and him, the only surviving Jekyll's (and thankfully the only surviving Hyde's too).
"And why would I do that?"
"Just do it, please Cassie." My uncle cupped my face, trying to get through to me and Clara looked confused; she knows nothing about Hyde.
"You really think that I'm taking those? You must be mental."
"What happened Alice, you changed" breathed Clara, shocked "Will someone give the girl a glass of -"
"I haven't changed, this is the real me. Something tells me that Cassie Hyde is going to be making a few more... Appearances"
"Cassie -" Her Uncle growled. "Oh god..."
"Take the pills, Cassandra" His face darkening and demonic.
"Calm down old man - it's not everyday that I get to be free."
"There's a reason for that Cassandra, we keep you locked away for your own safety."
"As if." Hyde growled.
"Can someone explain what's going on? Who's Cassie and why has Alice changed?" Clara said wearily.
"Let your uncle give you the monocane; I can't deal with one of you, let alone two." Our butler, Sam said
"How about, no?"
"How about yes?"
"Did your mother never teach you how to look after your elders?"
"You're three days older than me Cassandra"
"Leave me alone Samuel. We both know that isn't your real name though, don't we?" Sam scowled and ran downstairs. "And little Clara, we both know that you're so weak that father dearest doesn't want you...."
Then, a bang, a scream and sharp feeling in my leg.
About half an hour later, I found myself freed from Cassandra Hyde, asleep in an armchair, head pounding, mind whirring. Damn Monocane.
