WWE could be heading to India for a major show—but fans will have to wait just a bit longer.

In a new interview with Hindustan Times, WWE President Nick Khan addressed the long-running speculation about India finally landing a WWE Premium Live Event. While nothing’s confirmed yet, Khan made it clear the company has its eyes on the country in a big way.

>“That’s the goal, and we’re penciling out 2026 and 2027 now,” Khan said. He revealed that in early meetings with Netflix—WWE’s new streaming home—executives handed over a list of their top priority markets. “At the top of that list was India,” Khan shared. “If it’s important to Netflix, assume it’s important to us.”

Starting April 1, WWE content will begin streaming on Netflix in India, a move Khan says adds even more urgency to planting WWE’s flag deeper into the region. Although India has been on WWE’s radar for years, the Netflix partnership might finally be the game-changer fans have been waiting for.

WWE last held an event in India with Superstar Spectacle in 2023—but that wasn’t a Premium Live Event. Now, with WWE’s global reach expanding faster than ever, bringing a WrestleMania-level show to India looks more likely with each passing year.

Khan closed the discussion by stating the company is still in its planning phase but added, “Let’s wait and see.”

As with the Saudis, while the peasants don't have much, there are enough with wealth to make it worthwhile. Imagine how many rupees an Indian of a high caste like brahmin, would spend to dunk on those untouchable desi boys with his signed selfie with roman reigns.

what could it be named? Like realistically. Not anything racist or funny. My guess is some shit like:

The wrestlers must fucking hate it. I decided to go to Delhi and Agra (Taj Mahal) when I was based in Asia a few years ago and even staying in a 5 star hotel and having a private driver didn’t insulate me from how utterly miserable the country was.

There's 1 billion people in India. The Narendra Modi Stadium can be set up for like 130k people and chances are there are enough marks willing to pay a relatively ridiculous price to make a profit in that country that it wouldn't be a financial disaster. And the crowd will be absolutely rabid.
>>
>>17383066 (OP)
How are they gonna make any money from Indians to make even the trip there worthwhile? Recent WWE has been selling tickets for exorbitant prices, jeets don't even get payed enough money to afford one of those tickets.
>>
>>17383136
I'm sure there are like older imperial cities like Bombay and goa, but WWE in India will get all the prajeets into rabid onions mode so they will be selling amongst eachother long after tickets are sold.
Like >>17383136 says.

>>17383146
See the post above you. Not all of them are poor. Someone has to be running that call centre and there the focal point of pay. There are rupees to be made. Can you imagine how many thirsty, incels there are with rich parents that want to worship WWE women before their arranged marriages?

They did a show in a 5k-seat arena the last time and it had John Cena on the card, and they still didn't sell it out until the last week.

WWE's viewership in India are mostly teens that don't have the money themselves to pay for expensive tickets.

>have one big sold out record breaking pajeet show
>75% casualty rate of roster due to dysentery for the next month

Great plan Nick.
>>
>>17383213
Still sold out. There are far more marks there than you think there are there.

>>
>>17383259
Point is if John Cena took until the last week to sell out a 5k seat arena, there's no way they sell out Modi Stadium unless tickets are 20 times cheaper.

>There are far more marks there than you think there are there.
The marks are there but their parents aren't marks to pay for it.
>>
They need to hire extra security for any blonde woman in the roster and Roman Reigns.
>>
>>17383243
This. They'd literally need everyone to bring enough tinned food and bottled water to last for the entire tour.

The only way I could ever see this working is some very very rich jeet does a mini Saudi deal and pays for the show and tickets are like $3. Indians are so poor over 70% of the country still doesn't have home internet access
>>
>>17383066 (OP)
Didn't they try doing a tour in India years ago and could barely sell any tickets cause they don't have money and half the wrestlers who went got sick and were out for several weeks recovering

I think the last India tour had to drop some dates, but Jinder was a top guy back then and apparently he wasn't really liked in India. I feel like we wouldn't see Roman go to one of these though I know it'd do a lot for the business there so maybe they could get him to do it. Still quite a ways away so who really knows how things would shape up

Well, they could easily just eat the costs of the entire event by themselves but realistically they can get india to pay for the venue like they did with Perth Australia where the local tourism board I believe put out a lot of money to get them there.

Then sell tickets at street shitter prices so it's gonna sold out for basically pennies, so it's gonna be a shitty gate...
HOWEVER that doesn't really fucking matter, the point is the publicity and promoting them as a global brand.
