Haven't posted anything here in a good while, but!! I made a lodger oc :D
They're a florageneticist, and are looking for ways to mix in human dna with the one from plants to make them both coexist in one single body, while making sure that they stay alive through the process. They come from a species I made called flowerpeople and have flowers growing in their own body! In case some aren't recognizable, their flowers are: Foxglove, Mint, Chamomile, Lemon Balm and Lily of the valley
They're a bit distrustful towards other lodgers (and people in general) and tend to lurk, but they're pretty clingy towards the lodgers that they do trust. They're very averse to touch, specially touch on their hair, since it's pretty sensitive because that's where most of their flowers are, and they probably dislike a few people for having made comments about their hair or having touched them without warning
They also tend to idolize and feel intimidated by old people, so they're a bit terrified of Maijabi and Cantilupe, despite them not having done anything to them. They also idolize Henry in a way, they're incredibly grateful for him having invited them to The Society, and they may or may not be often knocking on his door to show him some of their experiments when they eventually get more comfortable in The Society

Yay Medieval Au stuff!!! I had an Idea that Hyde would unironically start a cult with his knowledge on the supernatural and alchemy, that he would stage spiritual awakenings to the poor uneducated people of the slums of where he likes to murk. Also Hyde is great Public speaker so it checks out, I loved leaning into his theatrical monologuing so I hope you enjoyed this silly lil comic I threw together. For explanation on why Lanyon is here - He's sus on hyde so he sneaks out at night to follow him around and investigate. In doing this he accidentally witnesses the formation of a whacko cult.

I’ve actually wondered about your design choices for a while now. I’ve tried looking for a post about it but. You know. Every Elias related thing I can find is either a plain reference sheet, or steeped in so many layers of lore and AUs and context in general that I don’t know that I can’t really figure out what I’m reading. I am taken with the titular premise of this AU, but where the fuck are you supposed to start? Can I make my own? With my own interpretation? Should I come up with a different name for Lanyon’s alter?Also I went and made my own Elias design because I couldn’t stop thinking about it, and now I really wanna discuss our design choices. I considered not making him shorter, because why should his height have to change the same way Jekyll and Hyde’s did? But the fact of the matter is, Lanyon is the TALLEST fucking major character in TGS and if Elias wasn’t shorter than him it would just be weird. He’s not as short as Hyde though. Like, a little taller than Jasper. Not including the hat. I got his outfit from a cursory search down the Elias tag and decided to keep it because it’s basically what I was thinking of. Pale yellowish tan. Opposite of dark purple. Very good. Like it says in the picture, his hair type changes as well as getting longer. I gave him concept-Lanyon’s bangs, but put it in a ponytail!I’m aware that the reason Hyde’s eyes are green is probably because the potion is green, but LOOK. Clear blue ones because it’s the opposite eye color of dark brown! It’s so satisfying to me!ALTIf you can’t read the words, they’re in the image description. This is mostly to illustrate what I think an alter of Lanyon’s created by HJ7 would be like. Again, I’ve never read any of the posts about your AU for reasons, so this is my first impression, any resemblance to existing semi-original AU characters is purely coincidental. I had a whole paragraph about what I believe Lanyon would be like under the influence of the potion, but he already explained it pretty clearly in canon because I DIDN’T WRITE THIS IN TIME, I HAD SO MANY CHANCES, WHY. -Anyway, what he would be like is sincere. Jekyll covered up his passion in an “I can’t be aggressive or unpalatable or want too much or indulge in things very far when I DO want them” so Hyde is intense in those ways. Lanyon covered up his passion in an “I can’t let anyone know I have a heart” sort of way, so Elias would be intense in THAT way. And it would break Jekyll's understanding of Hyde being evil entirely because Hyde might be his “dark side” but if anything, Elias is more like Robert’s light side. Neither of them are evil. I do most of my character development and infodumping on discord now, so my tumblr has gotten kinda neglected on account of me A- not knowing what I have and haven't shared on here, B- not having much motivation to collect thoughts and post on here, and C- not really expecting newer people to discover/care about him, which is kinda stupid ig lmao. Otherwise!! I'll be sure to write out a big long yap about Elias's actual character and development, since I've been kinda intending to but just haven't had the motivation and keep forgetting. Again, apologies, since I know everything and yap about it sm elsewhere I don't really think about how confusing it may be. Uh, for basics/beginnings tho, I do have a fic for him, which I'm actually working on the next chapter for rn. Lanyon basically accidentally takes the HJ7 the night after blackfog and everything, and poof, Elias! Design wise tho!! I made him back in March of last year, so before a decent bit of recent Lanyon development, and while he has changed a decent bit, he's still mosttttly the same designwise. Making him white honestly wasn't really an idea I had? Hyde retains most all of Jekyll's structure outside of his hair and body size, so I wanted Elias to still look very close to Lanyon but different enough that it wouldn't be "obvious". His skin is cooler instead of lighter or darker, mainly bc changing the color too much did feel a bit odd, but mainly for design and like,, logical reasons, I suppose. It just felt odd that the potion would completely change the color of his skin to such a degree, personally. His eyes are green bc of the potion, bc I'm simple like that 💔 they're also a different shape, for reasons I can't quite remember, ngl. I also changed his nose shape?? a decent bit?? Mainly bc I used to draw Lanyon a bit differently than how he was in canon bc my memory was off, but I've been fixing that in recent artworks. I made his hair blond bc I felt like the potion would have more of a bleaching effect on hair than a "recessive genes" type thing, plus it was just something unnatural and eye catching and messy. Uhhhh, clothes was a bunch of trial and error honestly, but I knew I wanted a messier and less "gentlemanly" style, hence the open collar. Higher society and expectations suffocate him, so why not let Elias breathe freely? Also the "white Elias" joke image I mentioned in the tags was simply an edit someone asked for while I was messing around with colors on a piece I had drawn a while ago, lmao. basically saying "lol what if you gave him the ginger Lanyon color pallet" and it certainly looked odd, but still merely a joke. Additionally!!! (His full character sheet and successful experiment will be under the cut :3) New OC dropped, a Lodger this time!! This is my new guy Lovell Roser, a Medicinal Necrobotanist at the Society :33 his work consists of: general herbal healing of wounds and sickness, treatment of infection or bodily rot, and the slowing/reversal of death by integrating plants into a dying or passed life form!! Basically, he wants to make flower-zombies. Most of his experiments result in creatures suffering from a rabid state, but he mayyyy have succeeded on bringing one man back.. Otherwise!! He's a very paranoid, partially apathetic dude. Most of his empathy is saved for his plants and the people he likes, but he can still usually throw on a friendly or caring act. Sometimes however, he does tend to go more blank, quiet, and oddly jumpy. He doesn't tend to let himself express any negative emotions like anger, always trying to keep an upper hand on his weaknesses unless something reallyyyy gets to him. So!! To express his emotions, he relies on flower language and gifting flowers and bouquets, feeling that they speak more words than he ever could. So, he's gifting flowers constantly, for good and bad. Otherwise, he's generally enjoyable-- or at least tolerable-- to be around. He also does journaling for a bunch of different things, mainly on plants and his fears. I think at the Exhibition he'd show more of his healing stuff, kinda just... Skirting the whole "resuscitation via plants" thing under the rug for a bit.
