Eventually the lodgers do find out that Jekyll is a spider monster, but they only know his "6 arms 2 legs" form and that's the extent of it. They don't even know about the extra eyes or claws and Jekyll would very much like to keep it that way

Hmm no wait finding out about his extra eyes instead would make more sense?

I've already decided that his spider features tend to pop out when he scared/surprised/angry/etc and a quick fright (like someone suddenly showing up behind him) would definitely make the eyes appear

And the 6 arms 2 legs form I cant imagine a likely scenario where Jekyll would be in that form anywhere near people

Currently liking the idea where in one scene a guard/knight with the ability the see if someone is lying or not asks Jekyll if he ever saw a spider monster in some location because someone saw Jekyll there

And like obviously Jekyll was the spider monster so he has to somehow get though this

So just says he has never seen a spider monster in that area, which technically he hasn't
