Casa Haba (bean) has everything you need, great airflow and comfortable spaces. It's a full house for two and a nice retreat from a day's work or touring. You’ll like hanging out on the rooftop patio in the evenings after a day of visiting the Mayan city and various sites around. There are lovely little shops and local restaurants all over the place and it’s well positioned for a quick uber to downtown, Paseo de Montejo, or other local favorites.

The space
The hosts' house is fully renovated and offers a clean and spacious interior feeling, despite its short and chubby bean shape! The living room is a pleasure to sit in and chat or view the street action. Its high ceilings and good ventilation make it comfortable even in the Yucatecan heat. The bedroom is furnished with a queen-sized bed, a desk for those who love to work, natural lighting, clothing dresser, air conditioning, and fan for your comfort. There is a hammock that can rest in the bedroom or the front room as you wish. The kitchen and dining area have everything you should need, and the bathroom is ample. There are a lot of laundry mats nearby and you can dry your towels on the roof top patio—old school style—if you wish.
You will feel safe and comfortable, not just because Mérida has been ranked the safest city in Latin America and second Safest city in North America, but because we also have cameras on the entrances. No cameras indoors for your comfort, so you're as private as you are secure.
Guest access
There is parking on the street in front of the red-door. You are a stone’s throw to a main street where there are busses that take you downtown or the opposite direction towards Cancun.
When you leave the front door and turn left, you get to the corner (main street) and turn right, then you walk passed the church and a few blocks on you find a grand looking building (bus terminal). If you continue along the street for a few more blocks you can feel the energy increase as you enter the charming Central Market area with all kinds of interesting things. You can get all your food and other things there, usually at a great price, it’s the classic Mexican market.
As you continue passed the market, the shops become more commercialized and you will find lots of restaurants before you find “Calle 60”, that’s your reference point and you make a right turn to head North. One block North on Calle 60 and you find the very cool historical Center of Merida. Hang out there for a while because it’s taken you 30-35 minutes, and if you get the chance go see the murals in the government building don’t miss them because they are stunning. If you continue North on Calle 60 you’ll find the lovely colony of Santa Lucia, with live music and great restaurants. There is a lot going on. If you continue walking North, you’ll begin to feel the buzz disappear, but you are passing some great restaurants and about to find Paseo Montejo! Paseo de Montejo is a gem, if you go that far then stroll the area enjoying all that it has to offer. We love that part of Merida, what a great city!
Other things to note
Our German water filtration system provides potable water in the kitchen so you always have good tasting filtered water for your water bottle, so fill up before you head out.
We just ask you don’t use that water to wash dishes since the filters are quite expensive. The skinny water tap to the right of the main tap is for drinking water.

I really enjoyed my stay here! The place was very comfortable, spacious, clean and well equipped with everything you could possibly need. The hosts are excellent, they really go above and beyond to make you feel welcome and give you whatever help you may need. I would highly recommend this place to anyone considering staying here.
I can’t say enough about Dey and Rosi - such amazing hosts!!
Everything was perfect and as described.
The hosts went over the top in communication and daily recommendations sent via phone texts. Even recommended an awesome dentist where I got a tooth cleaning :)
Super sweet and helpful in every way possible. I loved the space so much, I even extended my reservation! Would recommend 100%

Very comfortable accommodation for a trip to Mérida. We immediately felt home. The kitchen is spacious and well equipped to cook some good meals. It also has a water filter, so you don't have to carry heavy water bottles. The bedroom has an air conditioner and also a fan and the bed is very comfy. The bathroom has a big nice shower. We really liked staying here.
You have to walk around 20-30 minutes to the center, but that was fine for us.
