Greens pledge home-made defence drones, climate ‘army’

Australia would pull out of deals with the US for tanks, helicopters and submarines to build its own drones and missiles under a Greens election policy.

The shift would address the “mistake” of policy-making based on dependence on the US, the party’s defence spokesman David Shoebridge said.
