I Asked Chat-GPT To Collab On a Mobile Game With Me
Here’s what happened. Spoiler: I don’t know how to code
As a creative, I don’t hold the most positive opinion of AI. I think that people use it too often to cut corners and I don’t think it creates products that are anywhere near comparable to what humans can do.
With that being said, I’ve been trying to keep an open mind to using Large Language Models (LLM’s) as tools to help us solve problems. To me, this means trying to see the actual limitations of what Chat-GPT can help us do.
I don’t know how to code, I will likely never be a game developer or have the skills to do so. But could I do it with Chat-GPT’s help? I have the grit to do whatever I need to, but do they?
So, here’s what the back and forth looked like:
Me: Can you code for me?
I knew it could. But, I wasn’t sure if it would. I’ve seen videos of people doing similar things and I’ve heard that programmers themselves often use LLM’s as tools to stream-line the process. But, do I have to download a specific app? Do I have to pay? I didn’t know.
Chat-GPT: Of course! What do you need coded? Let me know the language and requirements.
