TVTropes finally has an official mobile app. I know we are late to the game but we finally made it. You can download it here:
IOS:
https://apps.apple.com/app/6738365737
Android:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.tvtropes.app
What's new?
- Home Screen showing most popular indexes/pages
- AI story generator using tropes database. Choose your Hero, Setting, Narrative Device, etc and watch your story come together with AI
- Push notifications for replies to your followed threads, new PM's, queries, reviews, TLP drafts, etc.
- Badge Shop added to the app and all badges besides awards and pro-user badges are free to add
- Video tab with full screen browsing (open in full screen then scroll between videos)
- New Video options for closed-captions and zoom (helpful for old 4x3 aspect videos)
- PM messages are grouped by title/troper (looks similar to texting but grouped by conversations like email)
- Better wiki walk experience (swipe left/right on your phone to traverse an index, swipe up from the button to switch index)
- Queries, Reviews and Trope Launch Pad have Image upload, preview and markup help
- Main Review section has images and a search bar along with "mine" and "replies" filters
If you find a bug please report it in our separate bug thread which we started last month for beta testing
In this thread please give us feedback on the app. What do you like it about it? What do you hate about it? How can we improve to make it the best app ever?

pearlina brainrot affects millions of people worldwide. if you or a loved one are suffering from pearlina brainrot, call 1-800-GAY-NERDSJust chipping in to say, please leave Forum Games the way it is. If you want to add a separate Games feature, that's fine, but we don't need any change to the way things are formatted there, which would likely cause many of the existing games to no longer work.
A great Mascot Mook.Oh, uh, yeah, we should probably have limits on what tropes the generator can pull from. Or let users set their own limits if they're uncomfortable, like an "exclude" option.
Currently Working On: Enforced TropeA link to the forum games section could work, though.

I agree with leaving Forum Games the way it is. The Games tab could still coexist with it, and I think it makes sense the newly-coded games would directly concern tropes (or media) while Forum Games are not restricted to that. One is wiki-based while the other is forum-based, so to say.
If Aquaman is "Nobody's favorite superhero", then I am Odysseus. (They/Them)Most forum games would be impossible to convert anyway, they rely on replies and avatars and making forum posts. But a "games" tab with links to the subforum, the JFF index and anything we add could go pretty far.

Currently Working On: Enforced TropeIt's not just the tropes (It's actually pretty good at avoiding the worst tropes though that might be because the search bar to look up specific tropes is broken), but the final step is "add instructions", and you can just give it prompts, the way you would any LLM. And it will use those prompts, as you told it to.
And sure, you can go "Why would we care, you told it to do that", but it has a share button that lets you share that on the forums.

How would that affect the games that already exist that use tropes such as the "Rate the trope/image/quote" or "Image/Quote Bingo" exactly? Would they remain or be moved to this new Games feature?

Attack in any number, wield any weapons, but fight with your very lives! If you live by a creed, show me its strength. To be honest, I think they can coexist. And I am not sure about these in specific working as interactive games, by the way.
Really, coding games like these take time, so I predict the Games tab will grow slowly with one game added per big update rather than having a lot of games at the start. I can even imagine crowners used to decide what the next game added would be.
If Aquaman is "Nobody's favorite superhero", then I am Odysseus. (They/Them)I got the app because it seemed really cool, but man... why the AI inclusion? I clicked on that bit becase I thought it would recommend me a piece of media with those tropes included. I think that would've been a good feature, much better than the AI at least.
Edit so I don't get accused of AI Knee Jerk: Replace the AI with the trope filter to learn about a new piece of media involving those trope. Cause that's something unique and grabbing, the AI thing is stale and dime a dozen, plus given the knee-jerk negative reaction, your core audience doesn't want this.

Feelings are complicated to the Games idea
Of course we won’t do anything to the existing forum games, I’m talking about creating some interactive games from them for a games tab or just to get ideas for games we could create along with the guess the trope/media game.
