Image
WrestleMania is five weeks away (April 19–20) — stakes are soaring and tensions are nearing a boiling point, as titles are set to be defended and scores settled on the grandest stage of them all.

Today’s episode of Raw on Netflix marks a pivotal stop on the Road to WrestleMania and is streaming live from Brussels, Belgium right now.

Ahead of the show, it was announced that Cody Rhodes and John Cena will be in the same building for the first time since Elimination Chamber, making for a particularly combustible environment. Additionally, four matches are set to take place tonight: Dakota Kai vs. Ivy Nile, Penta vs. Ludwig Kaiser in a No Holds Barred Match, Jey Uso vs. Austin Theory, and Bron Breakker vs. Finn Bálor for the Intercontinental Championship.

Today’s Raw began with John Cena arriving to a chorus of passionate boos. The torn crowd chanted a number of...

An Army of A-Listers Are Challenging OpenAI and Google Over Copyright Exemptions for Training AI Models
Image
At an artificial intelligence summit in Paris last month, Vice President Jd Vance slammed the European Union for what he called “excessive regulation” around the advancement of artificial intelligence, adding that such regulation will hinder innovation in the tech industry.

His comments were music to the ears of tech giants like Google and OpenAI, who last week submitted formal proposals to the White House Office of Science and Technology (Ostp) regarding the U.S. AI Action Plan. Their suggestions, essentially: Regulation? Who needs that?

Specifically, both companies included sections in their proposals regarding copyright and argued that, when it comes to copyright laws, the government should apply the fair use doctrine to AI. OpenAI said doing so is “not only a matter of American competitiveness — it’s a matter of national security.” Google said it’s “essential for accelerating AI in science.”

The translation of Google and OpenAI’s grave...

Don Lemon Tells Bill Maher That a ‘Huge Faction of Maga’ Supporters Are ‘Really F—ing Racist,’ but Maher Disagrees: ‘I Wouldn’t Say Huge. No’
Image
Don Lemon recently appeared on Bill Maher’s “Club Random” podcast and got into a debate with the host after claiming that a “huge faction of the Maga movement” is “really fucking racist.” Maher disagreed by saying: “I wouldn’t say huge. No.” The topic came up when the duo discussed the backlash that ignited over Tom Hanks’ “Black Jeopardy” sketch during the “SNL50” event last month.

Hanks popped up in the sketch as Donald Trump supporter Doug, a character he first played on “SNL” eight years ago. Sporting a red Maga hat, Doug freaks out when Kenan Thompson’s...

For years, NBCU and Fox have held events on the Monday of the week, with...

Reba McEntire Shares Special Tribute on Anniversary of Her Band’s Fatal Plane Crash
Image
Reba McEntire is remembering her bandmates who died in a plane crash in 1991. The Happy’s Place star shared a special tribute on Instagram 34 years later. “Always in our minds, thoughts, and prayers no matter how many years have passed,” she wrote on her Instagram Story on Sunday, March 16. “Love and miss you all.” On March 16, 1991, eight of McEntire’s band members and crew were killed in a plane crash in Otay Mountain in California. McEntire had a private show in San Diego the night before the tragedy. Two planes were waiting at Brown Field Municipal Airport to take the country singer and her band to Fort Wayne, Indiana, for their next show. However, McEntire, her then-husband and manager Narvel Blackstock, and her stylist Sandi Spika chose to stay in San Diego that night while the rest of her crew got on the planes. SAG-AFTRA Affirms Support for Dei as Studios Back Away
Image
SAG-AFTRA affirmed its support for diversity equity and inclusion on Monday, after several major studios walked back their commitments in the face of threats from the Trump administration.

The national board of the actors’ union adopted a resolution stating that Dei is a “moral imperative” and is also “crucial to the creative and economic vitality of our industry.”

In recent weeks, Disney scrapped its Reimagine Tomorrow initiative, which highlighted stories from underrepresented groups, while Warner Bros. Discovery, Amazon and Paramount have taken similar steps.

The moves come as the Trump administration seeks to stamp out Dei programs in both the...

2025 Emmy Predictions: Who Will Win at the Primetime Emmy Awards?
Image
Editor’s note: As Emmys season rolls along, IndieWire will update this page with in-depth Emmy predictions from Awards Editor Marcus Jones. A link to each category will lead to lists of the ever-changing contenders, plus reporting on what shows are playing well with voters, TV Academy rules changes, interviews with potential nominees, and more.

The State of the Race

As the TV season winds down, it is time to begin the conversation around which shows will win at the 2025 Emmys. (It is!)

The Television Academy will be looking to honor programs that aired between June 1, 2025 and May 31, 2025, a period of time still reeling from the widespread contraction of work in the industry, as well as the wildfires that devastated Los Angeles in January.

However, unlike last year, which was jam-packed with two Emmys ceremonies, but was short on returning series, the Outstanding Drama Series race alone has Emmy winners like “Severance,...

Gilroy had been planning to release the scripts for the show’s first season in a book format that fans could purchase, similar to shows such as HBO’s “Succession.” However, the rise of AI effectively killed that plan.

‘Yellowjackets’ Continues to Weaponize the Doomed Character Trope
Image
[Warning: The following contains Major spoilers for Yellowjackets Season 3.] Since Yellowjackets premiered in 2021, it’s been clear that no character is safe. From Laura Lee (Jane Widdop) to Jackie (Ella Purnell), the wilderness quickly began to take its pick of the ensemble cast of characters. But, with Season 2, it became clear that the writers were adamant to bring some sorrow to the adult timeline as well. While this wouldn’t necessarily be a problem, the adults the writers continue to kill off are all linked by a fundamental aspect which joins them: From the teen timeline to the adult timeline, these characters have been plagued by the Doomed Character Trope. A show like this is captivating because of the unpredictability of its circumstances. When each death relies on characters who have already suffered tenfold, it’s impossible not to feel nauseated each time someone is picked off. Although this trend feels like it started with Natalie’s (Sophie Thatcher,...

Will Spencer & Alex Lead ‘1944’? All the Hints They Will
Image
[Warning: The following contains Major spoilers for 1923 Season 2.] Elsa Dutton’s (Isabel May) narrations in the very first episode of 1923 warned that only one of James (Tim McGraw) and Margaret Dutton’s (Faith Hill) children would live to carry on the Dutton legacy into the future. Given that John Dutton I (James Badge Dale) died in 1923 Season 1 and Elsa died at the end of 1883, Spencer Dutton (Brandon Sklenar) is clearly that child. But this narration may also hint that Spencer is going to be the main character of 1944, the next supposed Yellowstone spinoff. It’s been a while since there have been any updates about that previously announced prequel (and no cast or characters or plot have been announced), but it’s reportedly still on the table. There are some other subtle details that make us think Spencer’s great love, Alexandra (Julia Schlaepfer), will lead 1944 alongside him, should the show ever come to pass. 1883 told the story...

Ellen Pompeo Tells ‘The View’ She Got Death Threats for ‘Being Married to a Black Man’

Ellen Pompeo was the featured guest on Monday’s (March 17) edition of The View, and the Grey’s Anatomy star made a rather startling revelation about the price of her television fame. When asked how she kept her head held high while reading negative tabloid headlines that criticized her early on in her career, she said, “I think all young women struggle with confidence, and it makes you super self-conscious. But I also had other fish to fry. I had bigger things [to worry about]. I had death threats from being married to a Black man. It’s not the only thing I dealt with.” Pompeo has been married to Chris Ivery, a record producer and writer, since 2007. The pair share three children. The actress was on-hand to promote her new Hulu series Good American Family, which she leads and executive produces. ‘The Righteous Gemstones’ Star Walton Goggins Used a Body Double for Baby Billy’s Season 4 Nude Scene
Image
[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for The Righteous Gemstones Season 4 Episode 2, “You Hurled Me Into the Depths, Into the Very Heart of the Seas.”] The Righteous Gemstones brought the titular family back to TV following Season 4’s Civil War-set opener starring Bradley Cooper, and as expected, the Gemstones delivered plenty of laughs, but it was Baby Billy’s (Walton Goggins) Season 4 entrance that really left viewers shocked. We’re talking about that nude scene in which Baby Billy drops his drawers in front of nephews Jesse (Danny McBride) and Kelvin (Adam DeVine) as well as niece Judy (Edi Patterson) as he questions them regarding the whereabouts of their father Eli (John Goodman) who is notably absent from the celebration their organizing in Aimee-Leigh’s (Jennifer Nettles) honor. Blake Shelton & ‘Opry 100’ Team Tease ‘Magic’ Night of Live Performances
Image
It all began with a fiddle. In 1925, newly launched Nashville-based radio station Wsm hired popular Chicago DJ George D. Hay, host of the National Barn Dance program, to become its voice and, of course, play records. But his retitled Wsm Barn Dance, which debuted Saturday, November 28, had a different focus: live music. Opening night ended with a spotlight on “Uncle Jimmy” Thompson, an eccentric 77-year-old fiddler who took song requests from listeners. They poured in — via phone calls and even telegrams — setting the stage for what was to come. Two years later, in December 1927, Hay famously uttered the words “Grand Ole Opry” about his successful radio show, birthing a legend. The Grand Ole Opry is now being honored with a party befitting its history — one featuring live performances from the world’s biggest country music stars in front of an audience, and airing on Opry 100: A Live Celebration. But audiences of Monday’s show got to witness some early sparks as the subject of Schumer’s yes vote for the continuing resolution drew the ire of some members of his party who perceived it as acquiescing to Donald Trump and Elon Musk‘s political agenda. First, the cohosts reviewed footage of Schumer justifying his decision by saying, “The Cr is bad. It’s a whole lot worse to shut down the government. Elon Musk, Doge, and Donald Trump will use the power to shut down the government to fire hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of workers, shut down whole departments, and shrink the...

Jenna Bush Hager ‘Ruins’ Her Dress During Live ‘Split the G’ Mishap on ‘Today’

Jenna Bush Hager did not succeed at “splitting the G” while celebrating St. Patrick’s Day on the Today show. During the Monday, March 17, episode, she was joined by Willie Geist on Today With Jenna & Friends and experienced a major snafu while attempting to take part in the viral Guinness challenge. The cohosts attempted to “split the G,” which requires chugging just enough of a Guinness pint so that the top of the remaining liquid lands right in the middle of the “G” on the glass’s logo. Although Hager wanted to make her mom “proud,” she totally failed, and the beer splashed out of the glass and onto her green dress while she was drinking. “I didn’t even make it!” Hager laughed. Geist poked fun at his colleague, adding, “Does anyone have a mop? Or a tarp we could put down?” Hager took the situation in stride and continued laughing as she wondered,...

Revelations: Cast, Release Date, Photos, Trailer, Plot of New Ryu Jun-yeol Movie.
Image
In 2021, Yeon Sang-ho and Choi Gyu-seok invited audiences to the depths of hell with their thriller series Hellbound; with their new film Revelations, they’re diving into a darkness that’s much closer to home.

“Many of the live-action films I’ve worked on deal with surreal themes in fantasy worlds,” director Yeon told Netflix. “But this time, I ruled out fantasy elements as much as possible. I wanted to depict psychological elements that can be found in reality, such as illusions, delusions, and traumas.”

So Yeon and writer Choi Gyu-seok set out to adapt their 2022 comic of the same name, a sprawling story about a pastor who sets out on a perverse mission. “Director Yeon Sang-ho suggested creating a story about faith and beliefs, the themes that have interested him for a long time,” Choi (The Awl) told Netflix. “I was intrigued and thought that...

Angela Bassett, Don Johnson & Joshua Jackson Tease ‘9-1-1’ & ‘Doctor Odyssey’ Crossover: ‘A Cat-and-Mouse Game’ (Video)
Image
The Odyssey is going to become the scene of a safe heist on Thursday’s (March 20) “Casino Week” episode of Doctor Odyssey, and 9-1-1‘s Angela Bassett will be bringing Athena’s detective skills to bear for the onboard investigation. The request for her presence, as the look-ahead teaser reveals, will come from Don Johnson‘s Capt. Robert Massey as the ship becomes a gambler’s paradise off the coast of Los Angeles. For Johnson, the opportunity to work with Bassett has been a long time coming. “We’ve known each other a long time, but we’ve never gotten to work together. And she was joyful,” he told TV Insider. “When you get Angela to set, you go, ‘Okay, I’m just gonna take her hand and let her lead this dance,’ and she’s a pretty good dancer.” Of course, considering what happened last time she was...

The Original ‘Looney Tunes’ Cartoons No Longer on Max
Image
The original “Looney Tunes” has been removed from the streaming platform Max.

Since March 16, the “Looney Tunes” cartoon shorts series (1930-1969) has been pulled by the Warner Bros. Discovery streamer. The iconic Warner Bros. cartoon franchise has already been chipped away at by conglomerate Warner Bros. Discovery after the corporate merger: “Looney Tunes” live-action hybrid film “Coyote vs. Acme” was scrapped by Wbd in 2023 before the film was set to start streaming on Max, taking a $30 million tax write-off instead. Wbd later announced that it had no plans to ever release the $70 million movie, and instead, the film was made available to be sold to another interested studio. The film was not picked up elsewhere. Wbd’s decision followed the similarly scrapped films “Batgirl” and animated feature “Scoob! Holiday Haunt.”

A source close to Wbd explained that the company has been publicly trying to step away from children’s programming,...

‘The Flip Off’ Fans Weigh in on If Tarek El Moussa Should Return for Season 2 With Christina & Heather
Image
The Flip Off has majorly dedicated fans, and there’s already buzz about what the format of the show will be if it returns for Season 2. The first season of the house flipping competition featured Tarek El Moussa and Heather Rae El Moussa going head-to-head with Christina Haack. However, there has been some speculation that there could be a change if the show is renewed for Season 2. One possibility would be the ladies teaming up against Tarek, which they both hinted that they’d be down for. Some fans on Reddit are also floating around the idea of Haack going up against Heather without Tarek in the picture. “I would be happy if it was just the ladies. I don’t think Tarek or HGTV would agree,” one person commented. Another admitted, “I thought he was cringe and over the top. I didn’t enjoy it.” However, the majority of...

‘FBI: Most Wanted’ Sneak Peek: Nina’s Sister Needs a Huge Favor (Video)
Image
Nina (Shantel VanSanten) has stepped in to help her sister Tink (Hannah Adrian) once already this season — with her husband Brett — but in the March 18 episode of FBI: Most Wanted, she’s going to have to decide if she’ll do so again. In “Four Bodies,” Tink asks for a big favor, causing a strain on Nina and Scola’s relationship. TV Insider has an exclusive sneak peek that reveals just what that favor is. Tink and her kids are visiting Nina and Scola, and the clip begins with them finishing up dinner. When Tink asks for a recipe for the salmon dish, Scola tells her there isn’t one. “Just coat them in some olive oil and hit them with some Old Bay,” he says. Nina adds that he’s putting Old Bay on everything. After Scola takes the kids for gelato, Tink tells her sister she has something...

‘Deal or No Deal Island’s Joe Manganiello Teases Season 2’s Final Tension-Filled Episodes
It’s not easy being the host of a TV show — unless you’re Joe Manganiello. “I didn’t have to try to have fun,” insists the actor and host of Deal or No Deal Island, adding that the enthusiasm he displays each week on the reality competition series, now in its second season, comes naturally and can be traced back to a childhood spent playing cards with adults, learning chess as a 6-year-old and winning poker tournaments at a young age. Despite being best known to audiences as a werewolf on the popular HBO series True Blood and a bighearted stripper in Channing Tatum‘s Magic Mike films, it’s reality shows that are one of Manganiello’s true loves. “I know almost every episode of Survivor, ever,” he admits. “When I got offered this job, I was that close to asking my agents, ‘I kind of want to...

‘The Price Is Right’ Fans Agree This ‘Drives Them Crazy’ About Show
The Price Is Right fans have been debating a part of the show that “drives them crazy,” and that’s contestants looking to the studio audience for guidance. A Price Is Right Reddit user recently brought up the topic, writing, “Do these contestants need an audience in real life? It drives me crazy how much the people on stage can’t do anything without the audience telling them what to do.” Often, when host Drew Carey asks for a contestant to give an answer, especially in a pricing game, they’ll look over to the audience for advice on what number to select. However, some viewers believe certain contestants rely way-too-much on the audience. “The audience would boo me because I’d ignore them,” the Reddit user continued. “The one last today is looking at the audience to tell her where to place a Plinko chip. The lady in the...

“Wednesday” Season 2 is set to premiere on Netflix sometime in 2025, but it sounds like ideas are already being conjured up for episodes beyond that.

Jenna Ortega, the star of the hit dark comedy series, told Collider that the writers are “messing around and throwing out ideas” for Season 3 of the “Addams Family” offshoot.

“We haven’t gotten an official thumbs up or anything like that, but I know that the writers are… With a show like that, you kind of want to get ahead of the game,” Ortega said.

And while there is still no release date for the second season of “Wednesday,...
