I want copy bookmarks of Google Chrome to Microsoft Edge.

I want to copy bookmarks from Google Chrome to Microsoft Edge.

I did the following first:

1. Opened Microsoft Edge

2. Selected the Favorites from the three-dot menu in the top-right corner

3. Selected "Import Favorites" by clicking the new three-dot menu again

4. Chose "Import data from Google Chrome" from the page titled "Import browser data"

5. Selected "Favorites or bookmarks" from "Import browser data" and clicked Import

6. Then I received Message "All done! We've brought your data over" and clicked "Done".

7. I then received the message "Have all your credentials saved in Microsoft Edge".

8. However, bookmarks were not imported.

I tested the following operations by following the suggestions of Copilot and Gemini.google.com.

1. Bookmarks file in %userprofile%\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Edge\User Data\Default

was deleted in order to install new bookmarks.

2. I created Bookmarks HTML file, but there was no option to install it.

However, the current bookmarks on Microsoft Edge were created some years ago by importing Bookmarks
HTML file created by Google Chrome.

Dear Toshimi M

Welcome to Microsoft Community.

We understand that you are unable to import your bookmarks from your Chrome browser to your Edge browser.

We suggest that you add a new folder of your own name to your Favorites folder or other folder in your Chrome browser and put all of your bookmarks into that folder.

Then you can import them into your edge browser again by selecting chrome when you select import, make sure you select the correct chrome user, and then select either favorites or bookmarks individually to import.

Hope this method works for you

Thank you for your response.

I tested the following method. Although I received a message "All done! We've brought your data over", Bookmarks were not imported.

1. Opened Microsoft Edge

2. Selected the Favorites from the three-dot menu in the top-right corner

3. Selected "Import Favorites" by clicking the new three-dot menu again

4. Chose "Import from other browsers" from the page titled "Import browser data".

Then press Choose what to import.

5. A window titled "Import browser data" pops up.

For Import from, select "Favorites or bookmarks HTML file"

For What to import, select "Favorites or bookmarks"

Then Press Import at the bottom.

6. Then the Message "All done! We've brought your data over" is shown

and "Done" can be pressed.

7. However, Bookmarks are not imported.

I also tested the following method. This method also did not work.

We've brought your data over"

and clicked "Done".

7. I then received the message "Have all your credentials saved in Microsoft Edge".

8. However, bookmarks were not imported.

Would you please state each step as I did.

The current Bookmarks on Microsoft Edge were created several years ago

by importing Bookmarks HTML file created by Google Chrome.

You stated that Profile must be consistent with chrome. However, I can select only my first name or mailing organization. I tested these but bookmarks were not imported.

By the way I could import bookmarks of Google Chrome to Firefox in 5 minutes.
