[10.0] "The best way this story could have been concluded, a long arc about two women who thought they loved each other turned into a bloodbath. Toni and Mariah bladed like crazy for the love of the game and I absolutely respect them for that, the blood absolutely elevated this match to the desperate attempted double homicide it needed to be. I hear Toni has been struggling to find consistency with match quality since she became timeless, but this trilogy from All In to Grand Slam and finally to Revolution has me incredibly pleased with her as a worker. Mariah too was able to match Toni's freak and I wish the best for her, I really hope she doesn't get lost in the shuffle after this. The ending shot of both women laying down on top of one another with the trons saying "The End" was genuinely perfect and should have been the closing scene of the show. Genuine, no bullshit, honest to god, absolute cinema."
[8.0] "Very stupid match but also fun. Not a fan of using glass as weapon in a wrestling match. Also, still not a fan of Toni Storm's gimmick, still think she should quit wrestling and go in the acting."
[8.0] "A pretty damn great grudge match with memorable, bloody moments & visuals. The glass-stuff in particular was really sick (in a good way). Overall though, this was nothing out of ordinary as far as matches of this kind go in my opinion, but definitely an extremely enjoyable watch."
[6.0] "3.25/5* The match wasn't bad but not my cup of tea. It wasn't really a wrestling match and ended before it really got going. I didn't love the story past Toni's retirement angle. I don't think this match really deserves to be in the top 100 matches of all time."
[7.0] "Look once the initial shock factor goes away and you rewatch this match, sure it's still good but it's by no means match of the night. It's a great cap off for one of the best women's rivalries this decade but I think I would've preferred something that leaned more physical than hardcore. I love a bloodbath as much as the next sicko but I just think too much of this was better on paper than in execution and it really held the match back from what it could've been. I don't know why Mariah May brought out a tazer just to not use it, I would've preferred a gimmicked TNA tazer, at least there'd be a pay off. I think Toni Storm bladed too early and too deep as the blood really seemed to throw her off. Obviously it's hard to predict how much you'll bleed but this was a gusher that clearly seemed to irritate her. Then to go into a Taipai taped fist spot but neither woman seemed confident in using the glass. I admire the lengths these two went to but if you take away the gore, this is still a really good hardcore match but not one that can stand on its own, luckily the characters and storytelling do a lot of the heavy lifting here"
[10.0] "AEW Women's Hardcore matches are some of the most praised matches in the company, aside from the Abadon matches. People just really like to see women being violent, and admittedly it's a bit of a cheap way to do it. But I'm not gonna act like I don't love this shit cause I fuckin love it. I didn't know what to expect after hearing so much praise, but wow they worked their asses off here. I'm not a big Toni Storm fan but I've been a Mariah May shooter since her Stardom run. And wow they both blew me away with this. There is some hokey stuff but with it being called "The Hollywood Ending", yeah I'll let it slide since the action was so damn good. Five Stars."
[8.0] "A hollywood ending. These are the women's matches we need more of. Toni and Mariah's feud has been epic. This was the perfect conclusion. I wish it got more time and like most I think it should've gone on last although the cage match may have over shadowed it. Still both deserve their flowers."
[9.0] "Wow, this match was fantastic. I wasn't sure if they could top their previous matches but they knocked it out of the f'n park and I loved it from start to finish. They had so little time and yet stole the show from wrestlers who had more than twice the time they had. It was brutal, such great storytelling and a perfect end to their feud."
[8.0] "On today's episode of AEW women's wrestlers going absolutely wild in street fights, we have this match. This story has definitely had its ups and down but they absolutely nailed the conclusion here. In just under 13 minutes, Mariah and Toni manage to cram in all of the sickest shit they possibly could along with some genuinely great bits of character work and callbacks to previous story beats. My favourite part of this was definitely during the whole part with the glass. Each woman tapes up their hand and dunks it into a bucket of broken glass. Toni gets up, her hand covered in shards of glass with blood pouring out of her head while Mariah just stares at her with terror in her eyes realising that she simply is not built for this. So fucking sick. Oh yeah there's also a shit ton of blood in this match especially from Toni who seemingly just jammed her blade into her head as far as it would go, the result being one of the sickest crimson masks I've seen in recent memory. All in all, this match was just insanely beast. A great conclusion to this story which managed to jam a ton of sick spots, blood, callbacks and great bits of character work into an impressively compact 13 minute package. The best match of the night and one of my favourites of the year so far too. ****1/4"
[10.0] "Wow! Simply the greatest woman's match I've ever seen and maybe the greatest match. I have missed most of this story having not watched in about 6 months but I was hooked immediately. These 2 woman are incredible and deserved to headline this event. TK you should have realised this! Not acceptable"
[10.0] "(5*) What did I just watch? this turned out to be the greatest women's match that happened in North America, I mean, this was unbelievable, fast pace, brutal, intense, emotional, and one of the best storytelling matches that graced pro wrestling. I get this match isn't for everyone, but if your a fan of hardcore and brutality that goes beyond scripted and real, this match is for you."
[10.0] "Not much else you could ask for from a match - like this or in general. Easily met the outrageous stakes on both emotional and title-related levels, but more importantly, every single action both Toni Storm and Mariah May take is so deeply tied to this moment, not allowing a second of escape for the viewer as they go through a collage of insanely memorable moments, devastating psychological work, and genuinely astonishing bumps. That final pullback with the table broken and the women bloodied will truly stick in my brain forever."
"Early and strong contender for best match of the year. If this got more time and main evented I would have probably gave it a perfect rating. Strong performances from everyone and amazing use of story and character. But even without the story context, this would still rate impressively high. I can't currently give it a rating, but if I would it would get a 9, 9.5 if possible"
[9.0] "This match was insane yet beautiful at the same time! Brutal spots, excellent storytelling, and they managed to do it all in just 13 minutes. This match was incredible, perfectly concluding this story."
[10.0] "Bloody, personal and conclusive. This was everything it needed to be. It was short but given the time, the women gave it everything and it truly felt like the satisfying ending the gimmick of the match called for."
[10.0] "I fear a lot of the criticism of this match finds its roots in misogyny. Two bitter rivals going all out to win the match and steal the show, tremendous."
ABSOLUTE CINEMA"
[4.0] "I thought this was cartoonishly over the top, like a theater kid's idea of what wrestling should be. Everything has this self-aware wink wink nudge nudge attitude towards the audience. Felt like I was watching a parody rather than an actual drama. For something that's supposed to be considered a great wrestling match (let alone an all-time great like this is touted to be) I at least expected a decent amount of actual wrestling, and what I got was a bunch of hardcore gimmick spots and playing to the camera with exaggerated "look I'm acting" facial expressions. Nothing felt like it had any authenticity at all and the hokey "The End" on the screen didn't help with that."
[10.0] "They delivered and then some on the "Hollywood" part of the gimmick. They delivered, and then some, on the stipulation. It went just the perfect length, in fact it felt longer, not because it dragged or anything like that, but because you could feel the tension. If a match makes you feel, it has fulfilled its role."
[3.0] "I don't really understand the terms in which people are talking about this match. Was it spectacular? It was certainly a spectacle. Both women bled like stuck hogs, they did every hardcore indie spot that you've ever seen, they did the broken glass taped fist thing, which is beyond phony. The attention to detail was nonexistent, things happened without explanation, there were champagne buckets full of broken glass under the ring for some reason, there were tables set up on the ramp in perfect position for piledriving upon. Was it intense? Well, no. This wasn't a match that two professional athletes would have if they hated each other, this was a stunt show that two geeks at the county fair would enact for attention. If that's the sort of thing you enjoy, that's fine I suppose. I do however wish that this bore a greater resemblance to a professional wrestling match. At least it wasn't too long."
[7.0] "I'm not a fan of their story but the last match of the trilogy was at least fun and satisfying. The hardcore was pretty basic most, but structure was pretty good and he was all about fun and fight, also the glass on the hands was sick such a looking of that pieces of glass at all. I'm glad they were able to come up with some hardcore spots to weave into their usual and boring big match sequences and at least it was more entertaining than their All In match. I didn't see any exciting storytelling here other than the heel at the end and Storm finally burying her protégé and on the other hand they just play the same song. Same sequences in places and too many of them without anything meaning, those classic finisher stealing moments and etc., but overall I was pleasantly surprised. Great entertainment from these two and thank you for not making another BIGEPIC match, because they bad in that."
[10.0] "I loved this match. I loved this feud. Probably my favorite feud from the last several years, bar none. Just outstanding. When they did the Axl and Ian Rotten segment, man, I lost it. That was so nice. It's like, I've been a wrestling fan for 30 years and sometimes certain moments that call back to history just move me in really nice ways. I loved this match. It was perfect."
[10.0] "MATCH. OF. THE. FREAKING. NIGHT. Simply jaw dropping incredible. Not only is this match incredible but the story told in the match is great the visual after the match with "the end" on the screen as both woman just went through a war. This is the best aew women's match all time the best women's story all time and i'd say top 3 story told all time in this company history. My only worry is now what do either of these women do now that this is all over? I mean they've been linked together for so long now it's hard to think of what it is they could do now that this incredible story is all over. 4.75 stars"
[7.0] "While I found this match a brutal display in a great way and a fantastic way to end the feud, I just think as a wrestling match it wasn't all that incredible. I respect massively the damage these women were able to put themselves through but beside a couple of great spots (and even more so, a couple of fantastic camera shots) there isn't a huge amount in this match that I will remember for a long time or want to revisit."
[10.0] "Absolutely SPECTACULAR! I watched this event mostly for this match and i had really high expectations but they exceeded them. The story was pure perfection, every segment, every match were just on point - they really did not had any bad moments. I love how Mariah attacked Toni in the middle of her entrance - they started brawling like crazy. Luther was taken out pretty quick but it was done so well. They took some nasty bumps on the ramp and moved to the ring when the hell really started. Storm Zero on the steps from May made Toni bleeding, then they decided to use broken glass and oh gosh those spots were BRUTAL - Toni landing on this from the 3rd rope was crazy but this "fist" fight with glass on the taped hand was even crazier + both hit their finishers in the middle of the glass. Storm chased May with the famous shoe and Toni ended this madness with Storm Zero on to the table with "The Hollywood Ending" on it. Toni laid on Mariah covered in blood and "The End" appeared on the screen. ABSOLUTE CINEMA! Even though AEW didn't put them in the main event (which is crazy considering they had the best story, the best match and the crowd was invested in this the most) they were truly THE main event. In only 13 minutes they were able to give us something to remember FOREVER. It was perfect ending to their rivalry which is already consider the best story in AEW's history. I also love how everything was justified here, the blood wasn't just to make it look more serious this last match really needed that, the throwbacks to their moments were amazing and the whole scene after Storm's win was storytelling at it finest. HUGE congratulations to Toni Storm and Mariah May for making this SO special! *****"
[10.0] "absolutely tremendous, absolutely incredible, absolutely phenomenal. my complaint is that i wish this went on longer! on a night where there were multiple match of the year contenders, this is a match that cant be ignored. its so awesome when wrestlers bleed. its so awesome when women bleed HELL YEAH! genuinely an incredible match, a great way to end their feud, to end their story. with conversation around the main event i think this totally shouldve main evented. The Hollywood Ending... in the City of Angels... not a lot of things in life are so simple are so easy"
[10.0] "perhaps one of the greatest matches to have ever taken place both in AEW, and in western women's wrestling - a tremendous story capped off in the most beautiful of ways, a crescendo of bloody violence and drama that only the word CINEMA may describe. wonderful."
[10.0] "Normally, these deathmatches or matches that consist of a lot of gore and bloodshed arent really for me but the story they told here was absolute magic. In an industry currently full of a half assed surface deep and monotonous womens feuds, toni and mariah had a year long program that rivals some of the greatest womens feuds in America and capped it off with AEWs best womens match ever without a doubt. Toni Storm is an absolute godsend for womens wrestling and has finally found her footing in aew with this fabulous timeless gimmick. Ending the match where it all began on the top of the ramp was perfection. Without a doubt my MOTY pick so far and itll be very difficult to beat"
[10.0] "The best match of the night and of the year so far for me. Had everything you could want in a blow off. It really should of been the main event."
[9.0] "[4.5*] Best match of the night and a true MOTYC. The Hollywood Ending was not only the best match in their trilogy, but also AEW's best match in 2025 until now. 12 minutes of pure brutality in a bloodbath that was not only crazy spots but also a perfect display of great storytelling and drama. Toni and Mariah were not just wrestlers there, they were actresses and their acting was straight-up fantastic. My favorite moment was Mariah's facial expressions while she was taping her hand to glue the glass, it just showed us what their relationship was all about. The ending was also fascinating with The End appearing on the titantroon. Maybe this would have been even better if it was just a little bit longer, because 12 minutes is not enough for that big of a story, but they absolutely did the BEST they could with such a small runtime."
[10.0] "Best feud in women's wrestling history and probably top 3 in AEW ever. What a brutal ending to this story you gotta give props for the women they went all in with violance. Ended in the same spot it all started, details... just amazing spectacl."
[10.0] "Not sure if I could add anything that hasn't already been said but yeah, this is probably my favorite women's match I've ever seen. Toni vs Mariah was already a top tier arc, this finale pushed it to legendary status. It's a perfectly paced rivalry and holy shit did this last match cement it for the rest of time. Bloody, visceral, at times difficult to watch, it's a masterclass in violent theatre. It transcends AEW, it transcends women's wrestling, this is simply one of the best stories ever told in professional wrestling and everyone involved should be EXTREMELY proud."
[10.0] "All timer match that capped off an all timer storyline. From beginning to the end, this was one of the most enjoyable things that this company has ever produced. Easily the greatest women's match in AEW history and one of the greatest women matches in NA, period. Brutal, intense and violent. They only had 13 minutes to do all of that and they absolutely killed it. They should have main evented, everybody knew they should have but the absolute clueless clown running the show has buried his head in his own ass so they were robbed of the opportunity. Literally a HOLLYWOOD ENDING match ends on the stage with THE END showing up on the screen as the crowd is in awe while two women who went to war are laying on top of each other in a bloody mess, you can't get an easier homerun more than that and they still missed it. Unbelievable levels of clown shit. Anyway props to Toni Storm, Mariah May and RJ City for creating this masterpiece. This feud was riveting to watch from start to finish, really amazing week to week storytelling. So many callbacks and references were executed briliantly in this feud. My favorite spot in this match was the duct tape-glass spot where Mariah realizes that she's way out of her depth, that was an amazing storytelling. 10/10 legendary match, only negative is that it didn't main event."
"This will most likely be women's MOTY 100%. With a somewhat short amount of time, they made an absolute masterpiece of a match that can't get any better than this. One of the bloodiest matches I have ever watched. AEW is back on a great run with this show being absolutely amazing. [10/0]"
[10.0] "Without any question, this is the best deathmatch to happen on US soil. Only rivaled in my opinion by Megumi Kudo and her contemporaries. As brutal as it was beautiful. The culmination of over a years worth of storytelling paid off phenomenally. All the callbacks were so appreciated and just the pure character work these two women did during this whole thing were a thing of beauty. In a company full of extraordinary matches, this stands out from the rest for me besides possibly Bryan Danielson vs. Swerve Strickland. I am going to miss seeing these two together. Whether they were friends or enemies, they were a highlight of AEW."
[10.0] "I know it's early, but this will undoubtedly be a MOTY contender. What these women accomplished in 13 minutes was incredible. Both women should be very proud of not only this match, but the entire rivalry."
[10.0] "Rewatch confirms that this is now, without question, the greatest women's match in AEW history. That also puts it up there with some of the greatest women's matches EVER. Just incredible stuff here. Can't add much more than what's already been said(not to mention this entire program just being an absolute master class of storytelling), but these 2 women put on a show that the entire universe knows should have been the closing/final act. This not being the main event will unfortunately always annoy me, but it does nothing to effect the score/rating IMO. I absolutely love the furious pace in this match. Just 13 minutes and yet they don't waste a single second, its a blitz of fury and rage and intensity right from the opening seconds to the final 1-2-3, the match begins and ends in almost the exact same spot and its a brilliantly booked bloodbath. Legendary match. Will be remembered/talked about decades from now."
[10.0] "What a match. What a feud. What a story. What an ending. Holy shit. Two of the very best wrestlers in the world, delivering an absolute masterclass, pulling the curtains to one of the best stories told in recent memory. Outstanding. Incredible. Timeless. Huge props to Tony and Mariah. Phenomenal."
[9.0] "(Grade:A/*****) A standout women's match in terms of AEW! Delivered some of the bloodiest, dirtiest spots such as Mariah breaking a Champaign bottle between Toni's leg, The Mayday on the thumbtacks, and the amount of bumps being taken was great to see. I'm gonna be quite honest, I know about Storm & May rivalry though I wasn't too invested in them but it was very easy to follow and did enjoy this one."
[10.0] "5 stars - this is to be one of the best womens match i have seen in a loong looooong time and definitely in my top 3 womens matches of all time (besides Bayley vs Sasha from takeover brooklyn and charlotte vs rhea ripley from WM39). The match started off in 2nd gear and did not slow down until the end of the match. All the moves were excellent. The bloodbath was excellent and added soo much to the drama and the match. the spots were breathtaking, the camera angles were amazing.. and the ending, my goodness, it was such an emotional fairytale ending of the match and the rivalry. highly recommended match!"
[10.0] "AEW isn't shy of giving the opportunity for women to break new ground, even if that new ground is the fact that people are still bothered when women go hardcore. Granted, the womens tag team matches that resemble this were also great, but this one has the huge advantage of having everything going for it narrative wise, considering it's the final part of a trilogy. That alone would not be enough, but they managed to respond to the hype and deliver a fun match with plenty callbacks, great wrestling, fun moments, gruesome moments and everything else in between. The ending is the cherry on top, and while i'm not the biggest fan of Toni when it comes to her in-ring style, it's beyond obvious that she's the MVP of womens wrestling in the west, and has been for a while. MOTN and everyone else needs to step up to this level, not in a particular gruesome manner, but in the "steal the show and wow the crowd" manner. PS: If you have any issues with women blading in 2025, check yourself. 5*"
[8.0] "It was a great match definitely the best out of the 3. Dont really care for all the blood and gore though, its not my type of wrestling but i understand that storyline wise it had to be more than just a typical wrestling match. They did do some creative stuff and one of my favorite spots was when mariah broke the champagne bottle between toni's legs. It's a shame this wasnt the mainevent of the PPV especially that horrible match between moxley and cope. Hopefully tony khan has a plan for mariah after this performance because she's probably the best heel they have in the women's division."
[10.0] "Let. Women. Blade. A true main event bout between Mariah and Toni that somehow managed to match the beauty of their feud with a perfect in-ring finale. My problem with a lot of falls count anywhere matches or street fights is that you see props around the ring that just never get used, but this time they used EVERYTHING. Glass spots looked insane and felt insane, and the crimson shroud that both wore by the end of the match created a cinematic mastershot that is probably better than anything in the movie that they had to promote next to this. Women's match of the year, maybe overall match of the year, Should have main evented."
[10.0] "Masterpiece. Truly a Hollywood ending. In terms of match length, less was more - they made every moment within those 13 minutes meaningful. The violence was motivated, seamlessly tied to the storyline that had unfolded leading up to the match. Above and beyond. Bravo!"
[7.0] "It was a entertaining bout, really the best of Mariah May's career, but only that. I think the overblown reaction comes from the blood and the very dramatic shots of both women bleeding, like other matches in the AEW's women division. For me, not shocking or amazing to see in here."
[10.0] "ABSOLUTE CINEMA. You can't end up a perfectly functional rivalry with a weak match, this is why this works like a charm. This was probably the most brutal women match in AEW, which is something to keep in mind, those girls are not afraid to deliver something out of the ordinary."
[10.0] "Perfect ending to a perfect story that I enjoyed every step off the way. Two extremely attractive woman who can both GO and can both talk made this one special. It's a shame nothing will hold up this for some time. A brutal match that I loved every second off."
