Cocktails, seafood, shopping and live music will blend together at SouthPark Mall when Tommy Bahama Marlin Bar opens on Friday, March 21.

The long-awaited Charlotte location will be the first in North Carolina for the casual clothing brand’s restaurant and retail combo. There are 160 Tommy Bahama locations worldwide, but just 27 offer a restaurant or bar. More are on the way next year, however.

At SouthPark, Tommy Bahama’s men’s and women’s sportswear, swim collections and home decor will share a 9,720-square-foot space with indoor and patio dining on the mall’s west side in the former McCormick & Schmick’s space.

At the restaurant, customers can expect a bar with signature cocktails such as the Grapefruit Basil and Blood Orange Margarita. Island Rum drinks, martinis, wine, beer and zero-proof beverages will also be available.

The food menu showcases plenty of seafood, such as its World-Famous Coconut Shrimp, Blackened Mahi Tacos and Ahi Poke Bowl. But there are a variety of other options, too, including its All American Beef and “Nashville” Hot Chicken Sliders and salads, plus key lime pie and brownies for dessert.

“We developed the Marlin Bar concept to create a more casual way for our guests to enjoy the Tommy Bahama shopping and dining experience. It’s one of the ways Tommy Bahama is different from other lifestyle brands,” Tommy Bahama CEO Doug Wood said in a news release.

“We are expanding our presence in North Carolina, and we are eager to welcome everyone to enjoy this lively, fun-filled location.”

Live music will fill the space most evenings, with the dining room open until 9 p.m. Sunday-Thursday and 10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. Online ordering will also be available for takeout and delivery.
