A recent article I read and a short discussion with the author sparked the idea for this article.
The article in question: https://medium.com/@jennieeS/dear-men-if-i-were-to-approach-ff968fa83356.
In this article Jen expressed how men look, yet don’t approach her and this is something she finds frustrating. To use an extract from the article:
“I was in situations where men looked and didn’t look up. Men can easily say, “Women put us in the approaching category.” “Women will never approach.” Well, how the hell are we supposed to know you’re interested? From what I see… you men rarely show signals since half your face is buried in your phone.”
To see or Not to see:
In most cases the woman gives a man signals to approach her, not the other way around (cold approach is the only time a man actively approaches a woman). This is how it has been and most likely will always be as it’s how we’ve evolved regarding courting.
Female baboons have red arses, insects emit pheromones, male birds do exotic dancing to impress, certain mammals will fight and humans… we use our eyes and non-verbal cues! The female simply sits and waits for the male to approach… usually.
