Oh my goodness

Lanyon knowing + Henry transforming erratically?

I feel he'd get really good at knowing the signs, even before Henry does.

Henry speaking to a Lodger and Lanyon noticing his stature, straight upright and tensed, claims something has happened in another room and whisks Henry away.

Henry's confused for a long moment, then barely bites down on a pained gasp as Lanyon brings him into the room, locking the door

Eventually Henry collapses, Lanyon pulling him into his lap and protecting his head again. Henry's boot scraping against the floor as he tries not to make noise because Lanyon couldn't get them too far away. Henry pressing his face into Lanyon's cravat to muffle his yelling, holding on for dear life.

Ohoho! I like the idea that Lanyon can tell before Jekyll.

Henry doesn’t know how on earth Lanyon does it. He himself never feels a thing but, whenever Lanyon pulls him to the side, telling him that he’s about to transform, it always happens, regardless of how fine he felt just seconds before.

Although, it does make him very on edge every time Lanyon pulls him to the side for something vague. He’s always fearful that Lanyon’s actually noticed an impending transformation, leaving him terrified that, at any second, he might feel a familiar pain in his stomach, maybe even before he’s left the room.

Perhaps that does happen once or twice, when Lanyon’s a little late to notice.

Just as Jekyll is being guided from the room, the lodgers watch as he suddenly doubles over with an agonised groan. They quickly hurry over to try to find out what’s wrong but Lanyon is suddenly vehemently pushing them away, refusing to let anyone even get close. Despite their best efforts to help, Lanyon is hurrying Jekyll from the room as quickly as possible and refusing all help.

All the lodgers can do is watch, confused and very worried, seeing the pained tears in Jekyll’s eyes and hearing him stifle a whimper as he’s dragged from the room. The whimpers continue for a little longer until Lanyon finds a sound-proofed room and the lodgers are left listening to nothing, wondering what happened but never knowing what it truly was.

All they can do is gossip quietly amongst themselves over what happened.

Also, yes to the idea of Lanyon not getting Henry far enough from the others.

Henry wanting so badly to scream but knowing that the lodgers are just a room or two away. His nails are digging into Lanyon hard enough to draw blood, forcing Lanyon to bite down some pained noises of his own, trying to soothe Henry as best as possible through gritted teeth to try to keep him quiet.

They can hear lodgers just outside, milling about and chatting without a care in the world, oblivious to Henry and Robert’s presence in the room just next to them. They’re so horribly close that even whimpering too loud might alert someone and the effort of staying silent brings tears to Jekyll’s eyes.

He just buries his face into Lanyon’s cravat, kicking and whining as he’s forced to transform, doing his best to muffle any noises he makes.
