This is going to backfire. Most casuals use Chrome or Edge, the people who use Firefox use it because they chose to not because they use whatever is available to them. This update might upset these people and make them abandon Firefox. These changes also look like they violate the Debian Free Software Guidelines (DFSG) so it might get dropped as the default web browser from Debian and derivative distributions such as Ubuntu.

RIP Firefox. They had only 2.95% of total users vs. 64.78% for Chrome. This marks the death of the browser. Its main strength was privacy.

The "Firefox may terminate your use of the browser" parts may also indicate your data is being used in some AI spyware that can ban you from Firefox or something, even if that's not until the far future. Either way, I'm noping out to a fork

When these companies try to backtrack and explain what they've done, they always mention "there is some confusion", every single time. There is absolutely NO confusion, you added or removed this from your terms of service clear as day. Companies constantly trying to gaslight us into thinking we're the ones that are confused.

Chromium monoculture is extremely dangerous to open standards. Firefox is the last stand against it until Ladybird matures. Use Waterfox, Librewolf, Icecat, whatever...just not Firefox proper.

Two years ago I switched from Chrome to Firefox in large part because the based cat told me Manifest V3 was coming and I saw the writing on the wall. Now I just switched from Firefox to Librewolf because the cat told me the fox was becoming a spook and I saw the writing on the wall. Praise be to the cat. 🙀

How is Mozilla able to stop someone from using Firefox? Maybe they can stop the aspects of it that use a Mozilla account (like syncing, I guess)... But that doesn't stop browser use.

I used firefox for about 20 years, it was my first choice for every computer I've owned, and recently was what I started picking for every mobile device. As soon as I heard about this absolute dystopian nightmare of a change I swapped to Librewolf and Brave on everything.
