Fire, Earth, Water, Air (A/N: I was having a mind fuck, because I was high on delicious raspberry brownies and the voice of Anthony Warlow, so I’m delivering this grotesquely saccharine trash to you. I am not sorry)
I associate people with the oddest things, especially those I care about the most. Maybe it's because I am a man of science (a mad scientist, as my loved ones say), that I look at them and think of things that wouldn't even occur to most ordinary people. Why is it that I see them and compare them to the four elements of alchemy? I'm not an alchemist. I experiment with transcendent medicine and split my very own soul. That doesn't necessarily make me an alchemist. My friends and loved ones would probably disagree.
But I can't help it. When I am around the four of them, it's like all elements come into place.
Fire, earth, water and air.
Those are traditionally four of the five elements of alchemy. Ether is the fifth one, but I don't know anyone whom it would suit. And I can't be any of the other four, because my dear ones fit them so much better than I do.

Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde rewritten Ch. 13 13. Dialogues with Mister Hyde and Doctor Jekyll
When Utterson went to see, if Hyde had calmed down, he found him curled together under the covers, with only his dark brown hair being visible.
“Mister Hyde?”, he asked gingerly.
The pile of covers moved and two sunken-in, bilious green eyes peeked out. “Hm?”
Oh good, he's calmed down.
“Depends”, Hyde muttered, “What do you want?”

I’m contesting with @bobblydoctor again, so here is my version of the Apocalyptic Horse(wo)men
In the role of Conquest is Victory, a daughter of Good and Evil (don’t ask how that happened, they dislike each other). She is neither good nor evil, as that depends on the victor.
Famine as Famine themselves. They are non-binary and a child of Evil alone. Famine identifies as a trans girl, but Evil doesn’t care. She is miserable at all times, as you would expect.
In the role of War is Hate, War’s daddy dearest. War would have come, but he is busy and not quite as omnipresent as Hate is.
Death is simply here as herself.

melodiouswhite reblogged melodiouswhite Follow A Dr. Jekyll and Mr Hyde comic.Hyde is bored and wants out.
Jekyll says nay.
Hyde’s own methods of … persuasion ensue. O_OThis took me over a month, but I finished the last panels within a few hours. I think I will now go to my favourite bakery every time I have a drawing block.melodiouswhite You guys! I wrote a fanfic to this!Jekyll was sitting at his desk, writing letters to some of his colleagues, when the clock struck, making him look up.
Ten o' clock.
He blinked. Was it really that late? Had he worked away another day without even realising it? Oh well. Those letters had to be finished. But the light was dim. His eyes grew tired quickly and at one point, he was rubbing his eyes twice within ten minutes.
Suddenly he caught himself thinking about his younger days, when he had been able to work until two in the morning, without even feeling a bit tired.
He sighed. Those days were long gone. He was now fifty years old. How time was slipping through his fingers …
"Still at it, Doctor?"
At this point he didn't even jump anymore, when he heard Hyde's voice and felt a ghostly hand place itself on his right shoulder.
"Why don't you leave that boring stuff for today and have some fun?", his darker half purred into his ear.
Jekyll held back a smile. Oh, it was so tempting. Just to forget these tedious duties for a night and allow himself to get lost in the sensations Hyde shared with him. Oh, how badly he wanted to say yes! But …
"Not today, Hyde. I'm busy."
"Come ooooon!", Hyde tried to coax him.
But Jekyll remained firm. "No."
He heard Hyde huff in agitation and the hand disappeared from his shoulder.
Then, suddenly, spidery fingers cupped his chin and tilted his head.
Confused brown eyes looked into wicked bilious green ones.
"Oh dear!", Hyde cooed and shook his head in mock-disapproval. "Look at how tired you are!"
Hyde's face was quite close and there was this unreadable smile on his lips, that unsettled the older man.
Jekyll gulped. "H-Hyde?"
"Shhhh!"
His breath hitched, when the other man's ghostly fingers caressed his chin, before the hand left his face to wander down his neck to his chest. Spidery digits ran circles along his chest and felt the muscles, while the other hand was feeling his upper back and neck. Hyde sat on the table, leaned into him even further and Jekyll felt himself flush.
"And so tense! When was the last time you actually relaxed?"
The doctor was staring at his alter ego with wide eyes and a bright blush, that intensified, when the hand on his back returned to his face to caress his lips.
Hyde giggled at his expression: "Oh, don't give me that look! You know, I just want the best for you!"
Everything Jekyll could have retorted was forgotten, when Hyde ran his left hand from his chest down to his stomach …
"Oh, my poor doctor …"
… right to one of the spots, where …
" … You seem to have lost some weight as well", Hyde noted and slowly stroked his abdomen.
The older man felt a familiar and very unwelcome heat pooling in his lower belly and bit his lip. He shivered and fought the urge to move into the hand that was caressing his body so deliberately.
He swore, that brat was doing this on purpose! Hyde knew his sensitive spots and was using that to get his way! How was he even doing this … how did he touch Jekyll like that in his ghost form, why did his mere presence make him want to-
Jekyll glared at the brunette.
"S-stop that", he demanded, but it only came out as a moan.
Needless to say, Hyde wasn't impressed at all. He just laughed, hopped off the table and proceeded to molest the poor doctor even further.
"H-Hyde, d-don't-ahh!"
The blond moaned and shuddered, when he felt Hyde's chapped lips against his throat and his cool breath ghosting over his own hot skin.
"Why so uptight?", Hyde whispered against his skin, "Just forget that pesky work for a while. I could help you let yourself go."
Jekyll was very grateful, when his alter ego pulled back a little and removed his hands from his thigh and hip, to place them back on his shoulders.
The doctor sighed and threw his head back, when Hyde began to gently massage his shoulders.
"You need to relax", the ghostly young man commented with a smile, before bringing his face down to the older man's throat again.
"Come on-"
Jekyll shivered at his alter ego's sultry purr.
"-Henry."
Jekyll forced himself to take a deep breath, pull back and push Hyde away. He folded his arms and glowered at his darker self, who blinked in surprise.
"H-Hyde … let me define 'personal space'", Jekyll grumbled irritably.
Hyde tilted his head and looked at him innocently. That is, he looked as innocently as Edward Hyde possibly could look.
"What personal space? I'm just touching my own body!", he countered.
Why, that little-!
Jekyll huffed in annoyance.
Then he had an idea.
"Hyde … I will quit for today, but I'm not going to take the potion tonight."
The ghost's face twisted into a mask of anger, before turning back to one surprise, when he saw what Jekyll was doing.
The blond grinned and slowly undid his bow tie.
"Now come here, you brat. I have some other kind of entertainment in mind."
Hyde caught on and giggled in delight.#The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde#Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde#Dr. Jekyll#henry jekyll#Mr. Hyde#edward hyde#Hyde teasing Jekyll#well he's not wrong with what he says#Jekyll needs to chill#like seriously#hyde's own methods of persuasion#borderline sexual harassment#take a wild guess where his other hand is in the tenth panel#i regret nothing#inspired by a comment on DeviantArt#and now i wrote a fanfic to this bs#sorry not sorry#this has too many tags lol… See all

melodiouswhite Follow Stop shaming the victim!I’ve been stumbling over some victim shaming posts lately and they make my blood boil. I will be talking about victims in literature that are being shamed, because if we talked about real life people, we’d be here all day.1. Cinderella (Cinderella, traditional): I’ve heard a lot of stuff about Cinderella being weak and stupid. Yeah, I’m not making this up. They say that she is weak, because she doesn’t fight back or run away.Guys … can you stop for a bit to consider her actual situation? Let’s talk about the Disney version here, because that’s probably the one you know best. First off, her parents are both dead, when her stepmother and stepsisters begin to abuse her and she’s still a little girl. So she has never learned how to defend herself. And then she has no one to protect her. Remember, she is a child in the prologue and an adult in the beginning of the movie. During those years, she has been humiliated, bullied and abused. At the first sign of rebellion, she is showered with more slave work than she already has. Cinderella doesn’t fight back or even run away, because she can’t! She has nowhere to run, nowhere to turn to and the only friends she has are the animals in the house! It’s a miracle she doesn’t go bonkers from all the bullshit she’s put through! She remains a kind and sensible girl. Despite all the mistreatment, she remains friendly and never holds any ill will against her tormentors. And that is not weakness. That is strength. And when she really wants something, she does speak up for herself. You know, when she asks to come along to the ball and reminds them that ALL single girls have been ordered to come and she IS a daughter of the house. Also, just a friendly reminder, this tale stems from times when women had nothing to say in their own matters. So stop calling her a doormat and other bullshit like that.2. Elizabeth Lavenza (Frankenstein, Mary Shelley): Yeah, there are actually people out there shaming poor Elizabeth. Why?! Why, goddammit?! She literally did nothing to deserve it! Some people complain, that she gets into the way of their yaoi. WHAT THE HECKITY HECK?! Why would anyone hate or shame a character, just because they ship their bf with someone else? That’s ridiculous! Also, she doesn’t deserve to be hated to begin with.First off, Elizabeth is an Italian orphan, who got adopted by a wealthy family that in turn fell into poverty. Then the Frankensteins adopt her, not out of compassion or even pity, but because she’s pretty (I’m not making this up, read the novel) and because they think that she and Victor would totally make a cute couple (because that’s totally not creepy at all). So they grow up as siblings, even though they call each other “cousin” and are supposed to marry, when they’re old enough. If you think this is coercive, it’s because it is. The novel plays in the 18th century, when women had very few rights and the head of their family (usually father or husband) decides everything for them, usually without even consulting them first. So no one cares about how Elizabeth truly feels. It’s likely that she sees Victor only as a brother. It’s also clear, that she looks towards her wedding to him with mixed feelings. Of course the events of the book don’t help at all. She starts out as a cheerful, sweet girl, who believes in the good of the world. That faith is torn to shreds throughout the book: little William gets murdered, Justine gets framed and hanged for the crime (despite being innocent), Henry Clerval also gets murdered and all the while Victor is acting strangely, like he knows something, but he won’t tell her what the matter is. And then, on her wedding night, he leaves her alone and then suddenly, this giant, monstrous-looking guy is in her room and that’s the last thing she sees, before he strangles her to death and she doesn’t know why.In conclusion: Elizabeth, just like Henry Clerval, is a cinnamon roll, who deserved better.3. Sibyl Vane (The Picture of Dorian Gray, Oscar Wilde): Ugh, I fucking hate it, when a female character is shamed for not being a badass or simply a tough and independent woman. Sure, it’s desirable for us women to be strong and independent, but there is nothing wrong with being silly, innocent and pure! If you have a problem with that, DID YOU EVEN ACTUALLY READ THE FUCKING NOVEL?! Ugh! Now, there is a reason for Sibyl to be the sweet ingenue she is. Several ones, actually, and they’re good ones too.First off, she’s barely seventeen, an actress and the daughter of an actress. The theatre is all she knows. And she knows that, she says so to Dorian, when he confronts her after her last, disastrous performance: “Before I knew you, acting was the one reality of my life. It was only in the theatre that I lived. I thought that it was all true. I was Rosalind one night, and Portia the other. The joy of Beatrice was my joy, and the sorrows of Cordelia were mine also. I believed in everything. The common people who acted with me seemed to me to be godlike. The painted scenes were my world. I knew nothing but shadows, and I thought them real.”See that? She was raised in a fake world and thought it was real, because no one taught her about the outside world. Her mother obviously not, because she profited from her daughter’s innocence and her brother probably not, because he wanted to protect said innocence, like every protective brother. She’s a sheltered child, but that’s okay, because she's seventeen in Victorian London, where would have been expected to be nothing but innocent and sweet, and because she doesn’t know any better. Then there is her suicide. She poisons herself, after Dorian brutally rejects her and I’m pretty sure that she doesn’t just do it out of heartbreak. She does it out of anger as well. She does it in a way that lets Dorian know that it’s his fault. Remember, Sibyl is an actress, so of course she would end her inner agony in the most dramatic way she knows, while also having a small, subtle revenge on the man, who broke her heart. I mean, a lot of girls get their heart broken, but most guys aren’t as brutal with it as Dorian is (especially, since this is the first time she experienced real emotion).Have more respect and compassion for this little girl. That’s all for now. I will add more characters, as I finish reading more classic literature. See ya.#classic literature#fairy tales#cinderella#frankenstein#elizabeth lavenza#the picture of dorian gray#sibyl vane#more will be added#i just need to finish reading more novels#stop shaming the victim#seriously#you can't expect all women to be kickass bitches#it's just not realistic#or fair for that matter… See all

When he opened the door to the sick room, Edward Hyde was sitting upright on his hospital cot, dressed in a night gown that was too big for him and supported by a mountain of pillows, looking a bit tired and waiting for him.

Hyde smiled and replied: “Well, if it isn't my saviour! Good morning, Mr. Utterson!”

melodiouswhite Follow Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde rewritten Ch. 09(A/N: This one will contain bloodshed and people getting gravely injured.)9. Unexpected emergencies and realisations
It was one of these evenings when Utterson was out and about. Ever since he had found out that Jekyll was shielding Edward Hyde, a man who had almost murdered someone, his nightmares had returned. He couldn't do his work like this, not when he couldn't think about anything else than Jekyll and … Hyde.
It made the lawyer sick.
What did Jekyll see in that creature?! Why was he so invested in him, why did he fancy a man like that, despite knowing that Hyde was a violent madman?! What dark secrets did Hyde know that obliged Jekyll to keep that little devil close to himself? Why did Jekyll shield a bastard like that? And why had Lady Summers, who had clearly seen what the man was capable of, defended him and dissuaded Mr. Utterson and Sir Carew not to sue the young man for the assault? And why did Lanyon, who clearly knew the truth (why else would he have ended his friendship with Jekyll for good, just when they had been so close to reconciliation? What else could have given him the shock he almost died from?), not tell him?
Mr. Utterson was sick of all this secrecy. He would confront Mr. Hyde himself and press the truth out of him, if it was the last thing he did! Being as sick as she was, the Lady had been forced to stall most appointments for the next two weeks, as her doctor had insisted that she should rest. And she knew better than to disagree with Dr. Lanyon, when it came to her condition. Besides, the poor man was already enough on edge. She had managed to snap him out of his fatal shock and he had agreed to take care of her as repayment. But Dr. Lanyon was still a nervous wreck, so she was his only patient for the next weeks. He needed the calm and relaxation. Now he wasn't here, it was Sunday afternoon, so she had chosen to leave her bed for a bit and move around on crutches.
When she was resting in her rocking chair in the greenhouse with her lady-in-waiting, her butler came in and announced the presence of a certain Dr. Jekyll.
“Show him in then”, she said gently and a minute later Sameer returned with a tall, blond and brown-eyed gentleman of sombre demeanour.

Lady Summers was on one of her nightly walks, deep in thought.
A few days earlier, a very upset Utterson had called her in the afternoon, reporting what a certain doctor had told him the previous evening. Now she wanted to lecture Dr. Jekyll more than ever. She liked to think of herself as an impartial and non-judgemental person, but with what she knew so far, it was hard not to be angry at the doctor, even though she had never met him personally.
But instead of brooding over it, she had chosen to take a walk through the district at night. That was not something a lady did, but she was an eccentric.
But tonight she had a feeling that something bad was going to happen, putting her on high alert.
