WE refer to the tragic incident at Titiwangsa Light Rail Transit (LRT) station on Feb 22 where an elderly visually-impaired man lost his life after falling onto the railway tracks and being struck by a train. This heartbreaking and preventable incident underscores the urgent need for improved safety measures across our existing and upcoming rail transit systems.

The Human Rights Commission of Malaysia (Suhakam) conducted an awareness programme on public transport accessibility from the Medan Tuanku Monorail station to MRT Titiwangsa on Feb 23, 2024.
