Possible Upcoming Hiatus I just wanted to let you all know that after I put out the rest of this chapter (and possibly even after one more depending on time) I plan to go on hiatus. The reason for this is because I finally want to remake all of the pages I lost back in May when I damaged my hard drive. I want to get all of this done before summer because I may be able to have a booth at Denver Comic Con and I want to have some legit hand copies to sell for that. Plus, with the advice and help of a few other professionals, I have a good idea on how to make hand copies to sell to you guys!
I know it's a bit sudden news, but I hope all of you will support me through this if you are able. Maybe to help with the payments to come I might do a kickstarter or something but...I get this weird feeling that next to no one would care about that.... We'll see :T
Until then, thanks for everything and please, if any of you have any advice, recommendations or what not regarding all of this, feel free to let me know! I could really use some help for this big leap I'm going to take soon!

Here's all the general amount (since MSD gets pretty detailed). In full honesty I'm not sure how it ended up being such weird dimensions, but that's just how it ended up being...

Um...let's see, I began working on it in 2010, I dunno the exact date of when but I believe it was later in the year in the fall. I know I had trouble getting back to working on it in 2011 but I know I finished it in early 2012.

gabrielied Follow Anonymous asked:When you're drawing your comics, how much planning do you do before hand like for story, paneling and what not?Honestly, probably not as much as you’d expect.The story, yes, that did have a lot of planning behind it, and most of that was more first figuring out the beginning and the end with bits in between sorted out. From there it was extending on the events between the beginning and end so the flow of the story all made sense.From there I go straight into storyboarding. I know many artists do a script first, where they write down exactly what happens in the scene, who says what, etc. I don’t do this step because I’m a pretty terrible writer and it would be more of a back-step for me in the process. My storyboards are usually very quick and I usually complete them a month before the chapter debuts. Though I have how I want the scenes to go in my head, this helps in showing how the scene will look on paper and how the text and panels are arranged, etc.Here’s an example of the format for my storyboarding:This is for Chapter 11 pages 1- 12 and here’s a close up of pg. 12:(I’ll put the final version of this page here to compare to)The idea is that I try to draw some very simple thumbnails of everything on the page and where it should all go (if I don’t like it, I put a sticky note over it and try a new composition). One thing that I’d highly recommend if you plan to do a step like this is write down and label the text and where it goes. Like on the page I put the letter “A” down and then write down the text on the side that goes with letter “A”. It helps a lot so you don’t have to make up the text as you do the actual page or have to go back to the scrpit for those who do that.But yeah, from there I go straight to doing the pages! Things may change from the storyboard to the page but that’s fine, it’s not as though the storyboard has to be the set in stone design either.Hope this helps!#long post#Midori's art tips#Anonymous#tsfhj spoilers
