Unfortunately, community notes are increasingly being exploited by governments and traditional media.
We're working to fix this...
It is completely clear that the polls about his own approval rating, which are managed by Zelensky himself, cannot be trusted!!
If Zelenskyy was truly loved by the Ukrainian people he would hold elections. He called them off because he knew he would lose by a large margin, even though he controlled all of the Ukrainian media.
In reality, he is despised by the Ukrainian people, which is why he rejected elections. I call on Mr. Zelensky to refute this by holding elections. He will not do so.
President Trump is right to ignore him and seek a peace settlement independent of the nasty, corrupt organizations profiting from the bodies of Ukrainian soldiers.
unfortunately,@CommunityNotes is increasingly being gamed by governments & legacy media. Working to fix this … It should be plainly obvious that a Zelensky-controlled poll about his OWN approval is not credible!! If Zelensky was actually loved by the people of Ukraine, he would hold an election. and refute this. He will not. President Trump is right to ignore him and solve for peace independence of the disgusting, massive graft machine feeding off the dead bodies of Ukrainian soldiers.

- It's Japan. Elon Musk understands the feelings of ordinary people so well, it's wonderful.
- Huh? The community notes are meant to expose spy accounts, right? I don't mind leaving it as it is. I think it would be better to make the details of the spy accounts public.
- Garbage notes are the same as old media.
- So it has a Meboshi attached lol

JapanNewsNavi Editorial Department B's Opinion
Elon Musk's statement that "Community Notes are being misused by the government and the media" has highlighted serious problems in the operation of SNS. Community Notes was originally introduced with the purpose of "preventing misinformation by allowing users to supplement factual information." However, if the system itself is being manipulated by certain forces, it is difficult to say that it is fulfilling its original role.
If, as Musk says, governments and the media are misusing this function, it is no longer just a "fact-checking tool" but has become a tool to suppress inconvenient information. Social media should be a space for free speech, but if certain ideologies or powers intervene there, it is no different from actual censorship.
In the past, there have been many cases where posts that were deemed "misinformation" on X (formerly Twitter) were later found to be correct. For example, there are many cases where posts that were initially treated as "hoaxes," such as discussions about the origins of the new coronavirus and posts about political scandals, were later proven to be true. Nevertheless, the situation continues in which only certain opinions are imposed by "fact-checking" according to certain standards.
First of all, there is the question of who decides what information is "correct." Currently, community notes are said to judge "reliability" based on the ratings of many users, but it is questionable whether this is functioning fairly. If a group with a certain ideology acts in an organized manner, it could intentionally distort information.
As governments and the media strengthen their control over information, the influence of social media is becoming increasingly important. However, if the social media itself is being manipulated, ordinary users will not know what to believe. In particular, the information reported by the media is often biased, and if the government is involved, the reliability of the information will decrease even further.
In Japan, too, social media platforms, which are supposed to protect freedom of speech, are showing signs of favoring certain opinions and silencing opposing views. For example, in posts about Japanese politics, criticism of the government is often left as is, while conservative opinions are often labeled as "misinformation." It is clear that healthy debate cannot take place in this environment.
Musk said that he is "working hard to fix it," but it is unclear what form that will take. However, it is clear that the current community notes lack fairness, and if they continue like this, the reliability of the social networking site itself may be undermined.
On the other hand, there is the option of abolishing it, but there are concerns that this would make it easier for misinformation to spread. If left completely alone, hoaxes could run rampant, so the right balance is needed. But to do that, it is first necessary to clarify how the current system works and which forces are influencing it and how.
After all, SNS should be a space for free speech, and many problems arise when power intervenes there. The most important thing is to create an environment where information can be discussed fairly without being manipulated. If, as Musk says, the government and the media are misusing the functions of SNS, measures to correct this will be necessary.
It will be interesting to see how Musk responds in the future, but we too are now living in an age where we are required to think for ourselves and not just accept information at face value.
