GOOD NEWS (to everyone awake at this ridiculous hour) I've finally figured out how to fix the sizing problem I've been having with my pages on smackjeeves. So far, I've fixed the first chapter so now the pages haven't lost their darkness and don't look like they're going to fly off the side of the webpage. I'll be fixing up the other chapters in due time!

why does your Hyde and Jekyll look the same? I thought they looked different in the books and stuff?
Well there’s two general reasons I went with this:
The first is that it flowed better with the plot in general. Plot twists especially, a good hunk of them wouldn’t have had the same effect (in my opinion) if Jekyll and Hyde looked different like in most versions.
The second (and far more important to me) is that I feel it is more terrifying. Like, the concept of dealing with a darker persona is, in itself, horrific, but when said persona bears a different face, I’d think it’d be easier to disconnect to it. Like, you deal with this persona being you, but when they look different than you, it leaves you room to be able to mentally deny it. But when this dark persona has the same face as yours, it becomes harder to deny it is you there. They, without really better words to put it, “wear your skin” and it’s harder to just simply turn it aside.
At least that’s how I see it……

His father passed away and literally gave Henry nothing in his will His fiancée ended their already long held off betrothal and therefore cutting off the last big financial tie keeping the family afloat And Al, who he saw as his most trusted friend and person he’d choose to depend on during these unfortunate times left the household. So basically not a good time for him….(then again, considering the events to come they weren’t meant to get much better.

Since then, his and Jekyll’s relationship has been quite sour, Henry’s certainly not the sort to be fond of being lied to for so long. Do you mean in the original novel TSFHJ was based off of or TSFHJ Lanyon?In the novel he was one of Jekyll and Utterson's friends and a fellow scientist.In The Search for Henry Jekyll, he is a childhood friend of Jekyll's since their families were partners. Lanyon currently runs his families' Mortuary business, despite being queasy around dead bodies. He was briefly mentioned during the funeral scene in Chapter 3 as well if you would like to know. (More on him in Chapter 6 which comes out at the end of February, so you can catch that then.) If you want to know more about the main group of characters (including the ones that have yet to be entirely introduced) there is a Cast Page on The Search for Henry Jekyll site.
