In Lebanon this is the true face of ‘hunting’. Outdoor loving ‘men’ trash the landscape with shotgun shells, coffee cups, cigarette packets & other waste.
In between lies the decaying remains of endangered migratory birds. For a bird conservationist, this is quite simply hell!
Stunning scenes in #Lebanon! Together with & MESHC Anti-Poaching Unit #BirdGuards witness hundreds of White Pelicans migrate through Egbhe bottleneck. from interventions with pro-reg hunters & tightened response from on poaching no shots were fired on the birds.
Good start to CABS bird protection camp in #Brescia, northern Italy.
In the first 7 days our teams have already found 18 active trapping sites & 13 poachers have been convicted in close cooperation with the police.
19 nets, 122 bow traps, 43 snap traps & 3 limesticks seized!
Another bird poacher busted in #Cyprus with 25 #limesticks - slapped with a whopping fine of 9200€!
Five freshly caught birds rescued & released - including this beautiful rare barred-warbler!
This is what we do best

These images, from Lebanon, represent barely the tip of the ‘iceberg’ of crimes & bird massacres occurring throughout the Mediterranean on a daily basis at this time of year.
Just like the overfishing of our oceans, our skies are also being exploited towards ecological collapse.
This blackcap in Cyprus is one of >1500 birds that we have rescued from traps & nets this year.
That may sound impressive, but in reality, the true figure of birds saved by CABS teams is MUCH higher because we have already caught the poachers & shut down their trapping sites!
One of fifteen goldfinches released after being seized from bird trappers in northern Italy.
^^THIS^^ is why we do what we do!
Actions speak louder than words!

In #Cyprus, despite difficult circumstances our brave CABS team has been busy in the field.
Over the last 5 weeks of our autumn bird protection camp - 22 poachers convicted, >800 traps confiscated and >450 birds rescued & released!
Camp runs until late November.
