The Good

The art and animations are really good. The art from Komatsuzaki Rui is beautifully used and a staple from the games from those companies;

The story is well thought, with a clear vision for future updates;

The gameplay is surprisingly good and fluid, both on the traditional arpg fights and on the XB portions;

The game seems to be incredibly F2P friendly. The 3 free units they give you are really good and able to clear all content in the beta. Players could also farm for 3 guaranteed pulls on any of the gachas just by clearing the whole chapter 1;

The characters are very unique, with different personalities, kits and places on your teams. Their lives, backstories and reasonings are also used on a lot of equipments, showing that a lot of care was put on the creating of this world;

It's easy to make new characters catch up to your current team since all characters share the same max level cap and the game has a system that can make leveling stupidly fast for lower level characters;

The game has some unique systems for combat and equipments, giving players the ability to make a lot of different teams even with a low amount of characters;

Voice acting and soundtrack is great;

The game has a skip button for most dialogue and is reroll friendly, with you being able to delete your account data from the main screen and fully skip the tutorial in all the subsequent new games;

The Bad

The beta was really buggy visually, with a lot of black screen. However those bugs were fixed quickly, by the 3rd/4th day of beta there is no signal of them anywhere (at least for me);

Some systems are badly explained or aren't explained at all, so you end up having to guess what they do;

The Neutral
I would call this game more of a Visual Novel with some gacha parts than a Gacha with some VN. The game is really plot heavy and has a ton of text, even with the skip button, you might still end with sections where you will be stuck in text or will have to read to proceed (XB battles)

There is an artifact system. This time is a 3 piece tamagotchi/digivice-like thingy. You need 3 parts of the same set to activate their effects. The effects itself are kinda good, and the pieces give a ton of stats at level 1, but the evolution of them, at least on the beta, was absurdly lackluster. The pieces only gain substats when they evolve, but the gains are minimal. So you could go from a 3% atk body at level 1 to a 4% atk body at lvl 20, and that after 10 levels worth of points going to the %atk.

The Gacha

The gacha costs 120 orbs per pull, and 1200 for a 10-pull;

Rates are 0,6% for 3*/SSR on all banners. Normal banner has that 0,6% divided into 0,3% for characters and 0,3% for equips, while the gear/character banners have the 0,6% fully for that kind of content;

All 3 banners have 80 pity. Featured character/gear banners have 50/50. The pity from 1 kind of banner isn't shared with the others, but it will be carried to the next ones;

Dupes for gear will be instantly fused until ascension 5 and any further dupe will turn into a special currency to be used in a shop while character dupes are used to unlock 4 bonus passives and 5 skill points to be used on the characters at max dupes (5 dupes);

EDIT: The featured gear aren't limited, so they will be added to the general banner after their run ends.

Conclusion
All in all, it was a beta that ran way smoother than I expected, even more considering that one of the companies had only worked on visual novels before this game. I hope everyone at least gives it a chance because everything points to a really fun game, with a great story and likeable characters. If you ever played Danganronpa and wondered how it would be if it was an arpg, this is the game for you. Yes, there is an anime of TRIBE NINE, but you don't need any knowledge of the anime to understand anything about the game.
As the beta still lasts 2ish days, if anyone wants anything else from the game, just lmk that I'l do the possible to show.

To start off, i'm going to be upfront. I hate gatcha games. Most of the time the story has every character in sight glazing you and telling you that you're "oh so powerful" and that you're some legend in the universe.

Tribe nine is different. You're not some immediate savior of the world, you're not the chosen one. You're just one of the unlucky people who find themselves in the world. the gatcha is introduced pretty early, and does give you a free healer.
but ignoring the gatcha, the combat is fun, you've got basic melee to secondary attacks, to character specific powers and ultimates. I was pretty disappointed to learn that "XB" or "Extreme baseball" was just the debates from danganronpa though.

People seem to be upset with the fact that the game had a pre-release demo even though the final product is a gatcha game which is understandable. But in 2025 it's just common practice for these free games to have a gatcha system, and sadly if you've played anything from mihoyo or something like wuthering waves, it's kinda our fault. Developers saw the success of one game with this monetization model, and followed suit and i'm not going to blame a developer for following trends that work.

However looking past the gatcha, the intro is good. It's not some carbon copy of genshin, the game starts out in what looks to be an 8-bit rpg, just to pull you into the real game minutes later. traveling the world map is done in a 3D space with 16 bit characters and it's a style I think is pretty good.

In the end, play it, don't play it. I'm sure it'll be around for you to try again later down the line because whales keep this type of game alive.

The game is exactly as they marketed it. It's the same storytelling vibe as Dangan Ronpa, and the gacha elements of a Japanese nature - fair and reasonable in this regard.

Voice acting is top notch, and the originality of meshing both the 8-bit elements on a 3D plane alongside the outstanding fully fleshed out characters makes this a good addition to the whole aesthetic of the game.

People really don't have any patience these days. "Respecting time" . . let me tell you - no game respects your time. The only time wasted is on your negative reviews based on what - "I can't skip dialogue" or "This game doesn't scratch my gambler itch" ?

Game is great. Looking forward to how things play out.

Patience is a virtue.

This aint it chief. The prologue is too long, and you get thrown way too many characters and exposition in your face, but I guess thats classic Danganronpa style.

No skip function available. Theres a huge lack of premium currency to be found while playing, and they have this system of paid and unpaid currency. Despite being exactly the same, they get treated seperately, which means in the future there will be banners that can only exclusively be pulled from, if you top up instead of grind. Horrible foreshadowing here. Gameplay wise its just Zenless Zone Zero, but without any of the charm or smooth combat. It feels clunky and boring. Its ♥♥♥♥♥♥ to recommend a different game on a review, but just go play Zenless instead.

It has great visuals and a good story, the gameplay is a bit clunky though.

The game is extra stingy with pulls so far (10 pulls in 2 hours) which is normal for japanese gacha games and why most of them end their services early as the average player has no characters to care and quit.

Play for the story and forget about collecting characters, as right now the game seems to be a whale bait gacha.

I know people have some prejudice against gacha but you can just focus and enjoy the gameplay and the story! All games deserves at least that much before you judge them! For me, this game is amazing and I can't wait to see how the story progress from here!

The Prologue took around 1-2 hours and it told you things that you can expect from this game, so if you're interested, you can give it a try and see if this is for you or not.

What's in common with Tribe Nine and PoE 2?
On a release date, you can't play the game because of the servers

0.3% rates, over 2 hours for a single multi, the story, voice acting and quality are top notch but if you are looking to scratch that gacha itch, look elsewhere.
