View profile for Jordan Cheer

Professor at the Institute of Sound and Vibration Research, Royal Academy of Engineering Research Chair in Smart Acoustic Control Tech

I am looking to recruit several PhDs to join my team at the Institute of Sound and Vibration Research, School of Engineering, University of Southampton to contribute to a multimillion pound reserach programme focused on developing smart acoustic control technologies. This is an exciting opportunity to work at the forefront of engineering research developing cutting-edge technologies that offer high-performance and lightweight solutions to address industrial challenges related to the control of mechanical vibration and noise. Successful applicants will receive a significantly enhanced tax-free stipend of between £24,700 and £27,700 p.a. (equivalent to a salary of £33,600), benefit from significant funding to support the research and its dissemination through attendance at international conferences, and join a collaborative and supportive group of researchers working to a common goal. I’m thinking about creating a project that combines your field with civil engineering, possibly by applying materials on a wall to improve its sound resistance. 😊
