‘Ukrainian army’ purportedly burns Trump in effigy

A video of what is purported to be Ukrainian soldiers burning Donald Trump in effigy is causing quite a stir.

In the clip, three soldiers are seen standing with a cardboard Trump lookalike as they deliver a message directly to the former president, essentially threatening Trump’s life for opposing the war with Russia — the 2024 presumptive Republican nominee has boasted that he would end the conflict in 24 hours with a brokered peace deal.

“We address Donald Trump. Because of you bastard President Zelenskyy couldn’t get any weapons. You will never be president again. You are a traitor. You will pay with your blood for what you did,” reads the overlay as one of the men speaks in Ukrainian.

Interestingly, Trump was credited with the $61 billion in aid to Ukraine being approved by Congress last month.

That’s according to Sen. Lindsey Graham, the neo-con Republican from South Carolina who has never met a military conflict he didn’t embrace. Graham appeared on “Fox News Sunday” to credit Trump for the foreign aid bill passing.

“There’s a loan component to it. This would not have passed without President Trump,” he said. “I want to thank the House Speaker [Mike Johnson] and [Minority Leader] Hakeem Jeffries working together in a bipartisan fashion to give weapons to Ukraine to fight a fight that matters to us. And President Trump has created a loan component to this package that gives us leverage down the road.”

Social media users were highly skeptical of the stunt — like Democrats are prone to do, they were quick to blame Russia.

Here’s a quick sampling of responses to the story, as seen on the social media platform X:
