Context isn't that far off, but on the off chance you lost internet connectivity on this page: Utterson has albinism, specifically a form resulting in red eyes (rather than say a pale blue)
It was in at least one of the two color pages at the start of the comic, but you'd be forgiven for not noticing or assuming it was a case 'manga cover coloring' (ie the coloration on manga covers is often varied, creative & with great regularity: not even remotely in line with what its supposed to be in the actual story)
